I am on my way to the store to buy Red Rasberry Leaf Tea. Im just wondering how much I should drink before I expect something to happen. Im only hoping and trying not to get my hopes up but I am 39w 1d and October is on its way FAST. I CANNOT have this baby in October because of my CRAZY MIL. I am Already 3-4cm Dialated and fully effaced. IM GOING CRAZY!!!! Please help...

Hey, I drank it with my last pregnancy. It did not make me go into labor...but I didn't drink it for that reason. I drank it to help my cervix- I heard it "conditions" your parts "down there" and helps them get ready for the baby so you dont tear as much. That's the reason I drank it and it definitely worked in that way. I believe you're supposed to drink 3-4 cups a day. Have you tried an exercise ball? Labor balm? Someone was talking about that and I ordered it to use it in a couple weeks. Have you tried a light jog?

The tea is to help the Uterus get stronger and better for contractions and will help lessen the bleeding. The Naturopathic Dr that I get my vitamin and herbs from said I could drink 3 or 4 cups a day safely but once I started dilating if I wanted to use it to cause active labor to start I would have to use 3 or 4 tea bags PER CUP so it would be really strong. You have to drink it ALL DAY, so your looking at using around 30 or 40 tea bags that day. I don't know if it works or not since i'm only 35 weeks and have another 3 weeks before i'll start trying. Keep us updated on what works for you, good luck!

Thanks girls!!! I have been bouncing on a birth ball since Monday. I just sit and bounce while watching TV. I havent tried a light job because I dont think its physically possible at this point. I have been walking up and down stairs and talking long walks. I think I am going to walk around the mall for a while. This is just not fun.

I've been on my ball while watching tv for the past few day too - i'm due oct 1 (sunday) and really don't want to go overdue! I'm going to pick up some tea this afternoon and go for a long somewhat fast paced walk. I don't know what else to do, as I don't want to try castor oil or anything. S_x doesn't seem to be working either! We did buy habernero (sp?) peppers for dinner - maybe that will help! Good luck everyone :)

I've been drinking Red Raspberry Leaf tea since before I was pregnant and drink it faithfully everyday. I am now 39 w on Friday and drink 2-3 mugs of it a day. Remember, it will not cause labor to start BUT will help once labor begins on its own. It is a uterus toner and will help to produce more effective and productive contractions. Also will help after birth to contract the uterus back to normal. As Celia said, you have to be dialating and drinking a lot of strong tea to help encourage active labor. Good Luck and Best Wishes!!

Britnye - why can't you have your baby in October?? October is...well, tomorrow!

Britnye - October 2

KLT- I didnt want to have her in October because my MIL is insane. Her Birthday is October 8th so she wont stop about how HER BABY is being born in HER month. Blah Blah Blah. She drives me nuts. But I am being induced tomorrow to ensure I dont have MY baby on Her birthday which is the 8th.

KLT - October 4

Ah...gotcha. Did you tell her this is YOUR baby? Well, good luck to you...let us know when you have your baby! :-)
