I have been having sharp pains that shoot down in my groing area (cervix?). I have read everything I can get my hands on but you don't often hear about this pain. It has been going on for a couple of days now. Also everytime I go to the restroom it feels like the baby is kicking down there but I know it can't be a kick because it is where her head is. Does anyone know what's going on? I am 38.5 weeks.

I am 39 +3, and I have had those for a while now. I'm 4cm dialated & 95 % effaced right now - could pop at any moment! The anticipation is killing me. But - my doc says these pains are just things spreading out, the baby burrowing down into position and things moving out of the way. Nothing to worry about, just very uncomfortable! Sometimes the baby rubs on my backbone lately and that causes shooting pains for me that feel like they are in my rectum. Not fun.

I have gotten them at the end of all three of my pregnancies, they are very disconcerting. I think the kicking on the cervix is hiccoughs.
