I was checked yesterday for dilation. I was only dilated to 1cm, but they said my cervix was soft. What does that mean?

Softening of the cervix is one sign of labour coming - the main ones are: cervix moving anterior, softening, effacing (shortening) of the cervix and dilation. Sounds like things are getting started a little! Good luck

I hope it means things are moving a long. I've been dilated 1cm since March. I'm so ready to push this baby out myself.

I have had a soft and short cervix since 24 weeks, i am now 35 weeks and i have been 1.5 cm and 75% effaced for 3 weeks now
