Hi ladies, I am 12 weeks pregnant and am starting to explore my birthing options. I have had thoughts that run from a full epidural to all natural...I just don't know what to do since my pain tolerance has never really been tested as this is my first. So, has anyone had any experience with the walking epidural? I am thinking it might be the right option for me, but I'm just not sure.

I have a similar question posted, so i have no answer for you, but I do know that you have to check with your hospital to see if they even offer the walking epi. Mine does not offer it. They told me why, but honestly I can't rememebr the explanation right now. Basically it's either a full dose epi or none. So make sure you're not opting for something they won't do. Just a suggestion!

I also don't have an answer, but agree to check with your hospital to make sure they offer it. Many hospitals don't offer the walking epi's, I know the one I had my son at didn't.

reneenay, That is too weird! The other day I was exploring my options and I decided I wanted something to take the edge off, but not a full epidural. I never realized that it had an actual name. I asked the hospital I'm delivering at and they do offer walking epidurals. Good luck to ya!
