VBAC After Incisional Hernia Repair Possible

My second child was born via emergency c-sec for a breech position. An incisional hernia appeared four months later and then I had it repaired with mesh. I am pregnant again, three months after the hernia repair. I have found no one who has experienced this scenario and the doctor who repaired my hernia had not done the surgery on someone wanting more kids so he has no advice. My current OB cannot do VBAC's according to hospital policy so I am going to meet with another doctor. I don't even know if I can have a VBAC because of the mesh being there, but the doctor who repaired the hernia says if I have a c-sec, they have to cut through the mesh and that may be a problem. Has anyone else gone on to have another baby after having an incisional hernia repaired and if so, did you have a c-sec or a va___al delivery and what was it and your recovery like, etc.?

OH MY...I am in the same exact situation! I have not found a doctor yet, as I have moved since my hernia operation and I am now pregnant!

Hi, Nancy! I have scoured the internet looking for this scenario. The closest I could find is a woman whose doctor told her that the OB is not to cut through her mesh so she will have to have a c-sec with a cla__sical / vertical incision. I have an appointment with a new doctor on Sept 2 and my current doctor on Sept 6 so I will post what they say so you can know, too.

Hi, thank you, any info would be great. I have been searching the internet about this as well and can't find anything helpful. I have an appointment with my old doctor on Sept 3rd and will let you know what he says as well. I am going to travel to see him because on the phone he did say I would need to find a "GREAT" doctor to do my c section and he would like to go over all my records as well as give me my 8 week pregnancy check-up. He is an amazing doctor! I'll let you know if I come up with anything.
