i had a check up with the doctor yesterday to see if i had started dialating yet. I am at one and a half centimeters, she told me I may spot a little afterwards but it has been about thirty hours ago now and i have even heavier discharge than i did before i went to doctor and the blood ly discharge has become heavier as the day goes by, is this normal? How long should you bleed after a check up like this, I am 39 weeks pregnant right now.......

It is normal to bleed or spot a little bit after an internal exam, but you shouldn't be bleeding heavily. I know everyone is different, but when I was preggo w/ my son, I just spotted a little bit for a few hours after the exam...then I was fine. With you being 39 weeks, it is possible that she stirred things up a bit and you could be in early labour. I would call your doc. or the L & D unit and see what they think.

24 to 48 hrs after internal exam is normal for spotting and LIGHT bleeding but if you are bleeding heavier as day goes by i would call asap you may be in early labor

I was checked by my dr. on tuesday and I spotted for about a day, then wednesday night I lost my plug and have been spotting brown and pink stuff since then. I havent had alot of contractions so I am not sure what is going on. Hopefully it will be soon.
