For the past two nights I have been kept awake with bad pains that start off in my back and spread to my stomach they last about 30 seconds. My stomach also goes rock hard. There has not been any regular pattern to them and stop about 4 in the morning. Am I in the early stages of labour? I am 41 weeks+2 days.

It sounds like you might be. I just had my baby boy three weeks ago and the day before I had him I started having bad back pain and then my stomach would hurt it wasnt really regular but it was all day long then the next morning I woke up to having contractions every 2 minutes when I got to the hospital and I was 8 cm dialated. If you are really curious you can go to the hospital and they will put a monitor on you that will tell you how often your contractions are and they can see how far dialated you are. hope this helps
