All you really need is a take home outfit and the carseat. The hospial provides diapers, little onesies, nose aspirator, formula (if you aren't b___stfeeding) and really, EVERYTHING your child needs while there... you just need to provide the going home stuff . And FYI, if you weren't already told.... EVERYTHING that touches your child is yours. They open a new package of diapers... you pack them up and take them home.. same with the nasal aspirator and other things. They charge you or your insurance for all of these things, so you feel free to pack up and take home with you! My sister had a great nurse, and just about every time the baby needed a new diaper she would open a new package, so my sister had like 12 packages of diapers to take home with her.. ( she was there a couple of days)

The hospital does provide for the baby, just make sure you bring a car seat, going home outfit and blankets if needed. Don't forget going home clothes for yourself, robe, slippers, camera, candy, toothbrush and whatever else you might want or need.
