Thanks for the update, Miriam! I also drank a lot of Rasberry Leaf tea towards the end of my pregnancy, and also had a very short pushing stage (thus the emergency birth!). I pushed a total of four times over a period of about 10 minutes, and I later found out that Rasberry Leaf tea can speed up your pushing stage. Seems like it works! : )

gro1974, I'm just curious. What happens after you have your baby at home? Do they take the lo to the hospital for observation or do you just go the pediatricians office. And what about the mom?

Miriam - In our case, the ambulance took me and my baby to the hospital of our choice and we were brought straight to the labor and delivery ward. From that point, they treated us just as if I had delivered in the hospital, as far as monitoring my dd and taking care of any tears, etc., on my part. We opted to spend the night in the hospital, but they made it sound like I could have gone home that day if I had wanted. I think if you actually plan to deliver at home, your midwife performs any routine neo-natal care or sends mom/baby to the hospital if it appears there are any problems.
