I am 38 weeks and am dialated to 3 and 50% effaced. I was wondering at what point do they induce labor? How far do they let you dialate before they send you to the hospital?

Not for sure but last week at 36wk I was 3cm and 70%effaced. On this monday 37wk I was at 4cm and still 70%. She said she will induce me by 39 wks. mostly because of gestational diabetes, not because of the dilation. I've heard being dilated doesn't necessarily mean you will go into labor soon or not. I'm hoping I will go anytime but you can be dilated for several weeks before anything will happen.
