I know there is a post asking if the baby moves during labor but how about during the contractions? I am 37 and a half weeks and I think I might be in labor. Baby is not moving during the contractions but I don't know if they are real or not.

I kknow that my baby seems to freeze up when I have contractions (strong braxton hicks). Then when they are over, he pushes like crazy for about 20 seconds. It makes sense that the baby would have a harder time moving durring a contraction since it is squeezing them. Good luck!

Yes they do move during a contraction...at least that's what my nurse told me when I was in labor; however, I was in pain and that's what I was concentrating on. I wouldn't worry if you can't feel it, chances are your baby is moving it's just you're concentrating on the contraction. As long as you feel him/her move in between you're fine. Believe me, you WILL know when your contractions are real...they'll be no question. They will be painful instead of uncomfortable and they'll have a pattern. Good Luck

Thanks ladies for your input. In my question i wrote 37 and a half weeks...oops I'm 38 and a half. I have had 2 kids before and the contractions weren't so bad for the first stage of labor and that's what last night felt like. But unfortunately, Lisa was right, I wasn't in labor but when I woke up this morning I had bloody show so maybe it is just the incredibly long latent stage since that stage can be a few days long. Crossing my fingers anyway and thanks again.
