how long does early labor last? Im not dialated but I have extreme back pain. The dr. put me on bed rest because of the back pain. I'll be 39 weeks on wednesday.

Early labor can take hours, days or even weeks!!!! Early labor is the longest...some woman go into early labor and then stop (which is also known as false labor)... I had that with my son, I was 3cm and 100% effaced at my 36 weeks check up already which means at some point in time,I went into labor and it stopped....and I didn't even know it because I didn't feel any contractions.
