Is it true that if you develop hemmoroids while pregnant they will not go away until after the birth? Anyone have any experience with htis?

you will more than likely have them after birth too, they don't go away without surgery.

I had a hemhoroid for 6 yrs prior to getting pregnant. I just kept dragging my feet about getting it surgically removed. So once I was pregnant I knew I had to wait until the baby was born to get it removed. Well, in my 6th month, it bacame thrombosed and gangrenous and HAD to be surgically removed then, I could not sit, stand, walk, ntohing. It was more painful than giving birth with no drugs, that I would do again. Due to pregnancy, I did develop a small one afterwards, but take great precautions to keep it small and have it looked at regularly by a general surgeon. They usually get better 4-6 weeks after delivery, but not always. Mine is doing okay now but is still there and my son is 13 weeks old.

I suffered from very painful and large hemmoroids from 36-38 weeks of pregnancy. I took a lot of warm baths, wiped with hemmoroid wipes, and used tucks often [when they were most swollen and painful, I had to get into the shower just to clean up after a BM]. They just went away and I am not in pain [and currently 40 weeks pregnant]. Also, after my last birth [two years ago] I had a painful hemmoroid which was treated with baths and tucks pads as well and was gone by the time the baby was 2 weeks old. Don't fret, they do not always require surgery.

Thanks Kim,
you are the first person who has had anything positive to say and it is good to hear. The whole situation has really had me down. Thanks for the encouraging words.
