Hospital Inducing With No Dilation

i am 40 weeks and being induced on saturday. at my appt today, my ob told me i was not dilated at all. if i'm still like this on saturday, will this make my induction longer/more painful?

I am int he same boat your in! I am 40 weeks on Saturday the 23rd. I just returned form my dr.s visit. No dialation what so ever. He wants to induce me on Monday night. He montioned starting me out on cervadil to ripen my cervix and hopefully start labor without pitocin. But if there's no change he wil administer the pitocin. I think that's where the painful contractions start. I'm not sure, this is my first time. Her head is down, but she's facing up. She needs to turn around. Hopefully we will both have smooth deliveries.

it turns out that as of today, i'm dilated to 3! but now, my dr is saying that his head is so high up, she thinks when we induce i'll end up with a c-section. hopefully everything goes alright. good luck to you!!
