hi i'm 37w with my first bubs i just wanted to know if there is a way to find out if your dilated or not yourself.i know you get the doc to tell you this but can you check it yourself?

Not really. To be at the angle you need to accurately measure you really need to be at the other end! Sorry!

you know when your dilated cos a babys will emerge from your lady bits lol

sorry jacquilyn i know its a worrying time for you but dont panic you will know, even if your lucky enough to dilate pain free you will have other symptoms like a show or a runny tummy being sick, waters breaking or just feeling a bit out of sorts which will give you plenty of time to get to hospilal, remember most woman dilate one cm per hour thats at least 10 hrs to get to hospital. good luck x
