Hey, the sweeping of the membranes doesn't always work. With my first son it was done three different times and I was still induced. With my second son the dr swept my membranes and I started having labor contractions an hour later. It just depends on if your body's ready or not.

I've heard that if it's going to work it does within 3 days too. I had mine stripped on the 18th, but it didn't work.

hi everyone, with this particular procedure i do believe it matters if your body is ready, w/ my first they did it once and it did the trick. (not sure how long after don't remember) w/ my secongd they had to do it twice, after the second time my water broke the next morning. my doc is going to do it to me next week, so hopefully it works again!!! Good luck everyone!!!

I had mine done once at 36w, it didn't work. I had it done the next time at 38w and 6d, around 11am, was scheduled for induction the next morning, started contractions around 2:30 a.m.
