I was taking shower and felt something. It was part of mucus plug or something. It was yellowish but no blood. I am 39 weeks 3 days and so far I am waiting..Arghh I don't want to be induced... Last week I had alot of false alarms..Hopefully I will know when I get into labor! Good luck to all!

How are the baby movements at 39 weeks for you ladies? I find them slower for some reason or maybe I am just tired to feel anything....

I am 39 weeks 4 days and my doctor have not done any internal exam..So I dont know if I am dilated and effaced..Arghh I feel embara__sed to ask him..What should I do????????

Sorry to be so graphic but mine looked like I had b__wn my nose and it was tinged with blood later that evening just before 9pm (last night that is) I had a type of "bloody show" with a bit of mucus in it. I ended up calling labor and delivery(it's my first child and didn't know what was really going on) and they called me in and monitored me for about 3 hours. Turns out it was my mucus plug and some bloody show, contractions aren't constant as far as time and pain. I'm 37 weeks 2 days as of today and 3cm dilated. I hope my son comes soon!!

Silvia, I know it feels embara__sing asking your doctor to check and see if you're effaced or dilated, but it's his job. How far along are you? When you ask your doctor, be sure you have a pad with you as you will probably end up spotting/bleeding a bit afterwards.

Jamie.. I am 39 weeks 4 days today and in an hour I have my doc appointment... I really hope he tells me that I am progressing. I told my husband to come with me and ask the doctor along with me.. I will come later and post to update...But so far I am just frustrated, anxious.. I really want this baby on its due date and can't imagine going for extra days or weeks..You know what I mean!!

Okay I have a question hopefully somone can help answer it for me. I went to the doctors on Monday 8/29 and did the strep B Test, and found that I was 2 cm dilated 3+ and 50% effaced. Yesterday when I went to the bathroom (Tuesday a day later) everytime I wiped I had the brownish discharge, which I think is expected....today I woke up and went to the bathroom and had a bunch of discharge that was tinged pinkish...Im currently not having contractions....but last night I was having a bunch of BH's and my back was hurting, or more like cramping. I'm only 35 weeks this week and this is my 3rd..........but both my others were overdue (boys) and this is a girl....do you think it's possible that this one could come early??? I'm not due till October 4th....anyone????

Finally I am back from the doctor... He said the baby have dropped down..But yet again he refused to do internal exam and my husband supported his decision. He said all the backpains, dropping and bla bla are good signs..But yet again I might go past my due date..Next appointment on Wednesday which means I will be 4 days late already in my next appointment.. I wish I can go into labor before that...Questions: Losing mucus plug and bloody show are two different processes or are they same thing? I lost my mucus plug two weeks but no blood or brown color... and so far no bloody show...I am just sooo worried..........

Silvia-I don't understand why your doctor wont' do an exam. Is there a reason that he refuses to? I am just curious becuase I know that they don't like to sometimes before 37 weeks becuase it can cause you to go into labor, but I don't see why they wouldn't if you are at full term. Just wondering!

QUESTION: when the dr gives you an internal exam, and you experience discharge with bloody show or mucus..does it smell like something died?. i had a v exam today and im 39.4 weeks. ever since i came back from the docs, ive been spotting and discharge coming out in clots and it smells bad..worse than fish, like something died..is that normal? i am dialated to 3cm also. thanks

I have no clue what is in my doctor's mind. Even my husband doesn't feel comfy with the male doctor checking me..I am extra sensitive..believe me!!...I will wait till saturday which is my due date and will go to hospital if I have to...Atleast for self satisfaction..

If your discharge have a foul smell, then it sounds more like an infection. I lost my mucus plug two-three weeks ago and it had no blood or smell. So make sure you are not getting an infection. Once you lose your mucus plug, then you are basically losing the protection barrier. Bacteria can easily enter and cause infection. So get it checked out!! Hope this helps!

Is it normal not to have any blood when you lose mucus plug. I asked my doctor if all the women have bloody show. He said that it usually happens at the start of labor. But isnt losing mucus plug and bloody show are alternative terms for each other. I think as the time is coming close, I am getting very anxious...It is soo hard to kill 48 hours...

Silvia good luck....let me know how things go. I still don't understand why the doctor won't check you. My boyfriend says he'd be really worried and upset if my doctor never wanted to check me. I'm doing a lot of walking, eating pineapple, and mustard greens to help with my labor so hopefully it'll be soon. I know I lost my mucus plug already and my doctor doesn't think it'll be too much longer. Again, good luck and keep me informed of how things go!!

LOOK Ladies! There are so many symptons that lead up to labor that its ridiculous. When you have contractions you will DEFINETLY know..trust me there is no fakeness about that pain. The show is no big deal.

Hey penny sounds like me and you are having the same problem but this is my second and im 35 weeks too and saw my doc. today she said that it could come any time. I had the same kind of discharge and she said it was my plug,also the baby droped. Im due on oct 4th too
