hi staceip...I was just going to make a post about the same thing, so I thought I would add on to yours. I am only 31 weeks and this am I was having contractions (painful) that lasted for about 4 hours and then went away....then later on in the after noon, every time I went to the bathroom, I noticed snotty, stringy, rubbery discharge on my panty liner, not the normal discharge at all, and was wondering if it was my mucus plug coming out and maybe was caused by all the contractions I was having... Hopefully someone will have an answer for us!! And if they do, how long before labor can you loose your mucus plug? I mean I know that it can be a couple of weeks, but I just thought that 31 weeks was pretty early to be loosing it.

Anyone? doesn't anyone have stories about when they lost their mucus plug?

I am currently 35 weeks, almost 36. I began losing my plug about 2-3 days ago. I was curious too how long until labor. Still a little early, I guess.

they should be or else you need to be checked i lost mine at 35weeks and still going right now the only thing i want to know is when is he gonna get out?

You can lose your mucous plug early and not go into labour...it will reform. If you are 39 weeks, and are losing pieces, it could be hours or days until labour begins. I lost mine about 4 days before I had my daughter. good luck!

hi, I lost my mucous plug 10 minutes before my 1st contraction with my first ds. I lost it almost 5 weeks before my 2nd ds and the nurses told me that it was fine. Good luck.

okay, Im 30 weeks pregnant....and this is the first time I have heard anything about a mucus plug? what is it?

it is (what it sounds like) a plug of mucus that kinda "plugs" the cervix and helps protect the baby and keeps infection from entering up into the uterus......when the cervix starts to dialate, woman may notice they are starting to lose it, in chunks or all at once, some woman don' t lose it until they are in active labor....my doctor told me that s_x, or having a yeast infection can also cause a woman to start losing it.

I'm 37 weeks yesterday and been having a lot more of this white / clear stringy discharge. I'm due on the Feb 24th, I'm also having more contraction that seem at times to be more painful. I have a Dr. appt Wed and I want her to check me but I don't think she will. only because I've ask her the last two appts. and she didn't. I can't wait to meet my little girl. I'm also in more pain then be4. could labor be soon.

Hi Girls, just ben to the loo and more or less certain i have lost my plug. I went to doc appointment yesterday and he checked me and said i am 4cm and he will induce me on monday if i dont go before then. Yesterday i had slight brown discharge due to the internal but when i went to the loo before on my panty liner was a large whitish yellow slime, then when i wiped there was a load of this thick gel stuff, a lot different to my normal amount and consistency. I have been having intense braxton contractions, not regular but the backache has started now so watch this space.

I had the exact same thing happen to me last night. And so I took a shower and about 15 minutes after I got out of the shower I was cooking and I noticed that the inside of my thighs were wet. it wasn't so wet that it ran down my legs but it was kinda weird and so i went and took another shower. Still i'm not real sure wat it was.

Logansmom- How far along are you? Maybe you are leaking amniotic fluid?? I would tell your Doctor...

I am 36 weeks. Today I have been getting some irregular contractions and constantly have the urge to pee but I dont have to pee. And this might be TMI but i have also had alot of loose bowel movements, and alot of discharge.
