skylersmom, thanks for sharing your experience but i'm just a little scared of taking the castor oil because i hate vomiting and i don't wanna take the chance of inducing me vomiting.... but if it comes down to it... i guess i'll just have to suck it up ( or throw it up for that matter)

smilefull- i did the recipe with the coke and crackers. and actually, i dont know how many kinds of castor oil there are but i got the tasteless, odorless kind from walmart. it wasnt bad at all. its just like drinking......oil! lol. i didnt gag or anything. but my husband had to take it years ago for something and he said the stuff he bought smelled and tasted horrible. so maybe i got lucky finding that stuff? i dont know. but i did take the rest of the bottle yesterday (i know i said i wasnt going to take anymore but i figured i might as well finish the bottle. it was too tempting) but it just gave me the poo's. no cramps or vomiting. so luckily i reacted to it ok. ive read some real horror stories by people. but it definitely didnt put me in labor! i sure hope this little dude decides to come out soon! another important thing, i drank alot of water to make sure i wasnt getting dehydrated and also i made sure to pay attention to the babys movements. just to make sure he was moving ok. although he doesnt move much lately anyways. it was something i felt like i needed to try. i did it, it didnt work. now i know. good luck to you! and give us an update k?

allright. the update: took it around 10:00 last night, (with alcohol free peach cider--figured it's juicy and it's frizzy--was wuite palatable--like you said taste like oil!) around 11:00 casually went to the restroom (there was no "running" involved-quite comfortable) and my system got pretty much cleaned out. Felt a little neasuea...washed out my mouth with mouthwash and was fine. Slept like a baby for the first time in a week--felt really good. Got up around 3 'cause my son woke us up, went to washroom again--same thing, no neasuea. Went back to sleep, comfortably and deeply--I know throughout the night I woke up with some strong contractions but just kind of faded into my consciousness and left again--I REALLY HAD AN AWESOME NIGHTS SLEEP! I FEEL SO GREAT THIS MORNING. This morning the contractions seem less strong but they're still coming about 20 min apart, a bit scattered. Time will tell. Good luck with your second try Skylersmom! let us know! Wish there would be more boards like this and someone can compound the data and there will actually be some information like this out there!

isnt that so weird? both nights i took it, i slept great! i did get up a couple times to go, but other than that, quite comfortable! and the next day, i got so much done around the house lol. i felt really good. i guess it makes that much difference when your system gets cleaned out like that. i have felt so much more comfortable the last couple days. not so bloated and heavy i guess would be how to describe it. the oil didnt start labor for me, but i go to the dr tomorrow so we'll see if anything has happened changed down there since last time. i do get contractions, just no pattern. how much did you take by the way?

hey yeah! It's so funny, I'm organising like crazy today, and yes, it does feel like you're not so bloated and heavy. I know your intestines slow down when you're pregnant---can imagine all the stuff sitting in there could make you feel heavy and bloated---I actually just wanted to post that my contractions have picked up. They might fizzle out--but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I took 2 oz which is about 60mL or 4 tbsp. I remember you saying you're going to try it again---? That ever happen?

i'll cross my fingers for you! i get them once in awhile but nothin to run to L&D for lol. hopefully it works for you. that'd be great! i did finish the bottle yesterday about 4pm. it did nothing but make me poo quite a bit. it wasnt that bad. i didnt get cramps and such. definitely no labor yet. good luck to you! keep updating though..........

okay, so I decided since things weren't dying down, nor picking up really I would try another dose--same as last night 2 oz, 4 tblsp). Only when we finally got him there was no more cider left--nor any other fizzy drink, or juice. First hubby suggested dipping the pineapple in it and then eating it---DO NOT DO THAT, especially with my hubby I laughed so hard the castor oil came out my nose, and if you find it gross on your taste bud a big glob of it up your nostrils isn't advisable. After some searching we found a lime mixer, which we mixed with some water---that worked well. I would take a big sip of lime juice, a big gulp of the oil and a big sip of lime jagain. I'm just looking forward to the wonderful sleep! Oh I should mention, hubby was so impressed with the whole process last night and how wonderful I felt this morning that he wanted to try some too. After we gulped it all down he was like ----wait a minute---we only have one bathroom! So, I'll keep you updated! Oh and skylersmom, --60% of ladies started labour within 72 hours..you still got time to go!!

lol that really sucks it came out your nose. i cant even imagine. its funny about the one bathroom thing too. that must of been fun!! well, i went to the dr today. she said im almost 3cm. 2wks ago i was 1-2. so at least im not at a stand still right now. so hopefully soon! i havent read about the 60% of girls going into labor thing. thats interesting. gives me hope. well, ill keep checking back to see whats up with you. im sending labor vibes to you!

thanks skylersmom--hey you dilated some more, so therefore stuff is definetly happening...so, funny but there were nooo action last night whatsoever. It didn't seem to do anything to our tummies. Went to sleep. I guess around 1am I woke up with contractions--painful ones...that's been going on till now 9am. So we'll see! (On a very side note, and probably tmi---hubby reports increased libido from the castor oil)

LOL thats good to hear! i wish my husbands would. he seems too scared to be intimiate with me. hes afraid of my water breaking on him or something. i told him not to worry about it, so i think i might of convinced him. we'll see tonight. its been awhile lol. take care

ah man, do we ever have opposite problems! My hubby can't keep his hands off me---and I can't handle it anymore! Feeling like a beached whale does not make you feel s_xy! Ah, I'm off on a tangent. The contractions fizzled out...grr...had a pineapple tonight, and going shopping with mom tommorow. Hopefully that'll start things up again....*sigh* Have you given up the labour fight? Let things take their course?

yeah ive decided to just let it happen when it happens. i dont want to push it too much then have something go wrong. i just wanted to give it a try and see if it worked. obviously my body wasnt ready, unfortunately lol. i definitely dont want him born today. id actually like to wait like another 3 or 4 days now. dont get me wrong, i want him OUT! but my husband has a son from a previous relationship and today is his bday. i wouldnt be too fond of them sharing the same birthday. thats just me though. hows things going with you today?

Can totally see how having their birthdays on the same day would probably not be the best of ideas...So many people say that they come when you become submissive to the process, when you let things be. Today I'm going walking around with my mommy..get some exercise, get my shop on--maybe help along labour? Pfft. I too have gotten tired of trying! Keep me updated on your progress

well a little while ago i got back from a nice walk with my son and went pee. there was quite a bit of blood tinged mucous (gross i know) but i know it was my bloody show, mucous plug whatever you want to call it lol. there was actually alot.....so im excited. im not sure exactly what it means. i guess it could still be a couple days. but ive read about girls that have gone into labor within hours of losing theirs. so we'll see. wish me luck! i want to get this over with :) ive been cleaning and organizing the house since this happened lol. im so anxious
