I'm scared that i wont know that i'm having contrctions. I've had pains before, but what if I think these pains are the same as contractions. help!

you stomach will tighten and you will be able to feel it and there will be pain that accomidates it....make sure you time them from the time it starts till the time it stops and then how long it takes the next one to start...contractions last from 35-55 seconds and usually anywhere between 2-5 min apart...Good luck to you

Nancy, I am 33 weeks pregnant and I know what u mean. I have already dialated to 1 cm and didnt feel any contractions yet. My sister told me that your tummy like turns into a cone type shape and gets real hard for a little bit continuously, and really seems kinda painful. I get pains right now and sometimes think its contractions, but its hard to tell bc the baby gets into my ribs and some of the positions it feels bad. But u will know when u have them bc they get to be constant and no matter what u do they stick around. So good luck and stick with ur instincts!
