im 37 wks and 3 days now, i want my daughter to come now, i cant wait to have her, they are inducing my labor when im 39wks, but i heard it is worse being medically induced so iv been trying some natural inducing methods, like castor oil and that definently DID NOT work other then making me nausias and on the toilet for 2 days. so i started walking, i also walked the 7-falls stairs and im dialating now, that is working so far, oh and s_x , and nipple stimulation are also other things i heard works.

I am 5 days overdue at the moment and have been trying a few things... I have tried Rasberry Leaf Tea, Pinapple, Lots of s_x and Walking... none of these things have worked for me at this stage. I think it all depends on your own body. With the s_x thing to work I was told that you need HEAPS of c_m (from your partner) for it to work.... ???? Sorry this doesn't help very much.... it sux doesn't it, playing the waiting game. JUST GET IT OUT!!!

I am 38 1/2 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child. I was told by several people that taking castor oil will help in enducing labor. I am a witness that this methods does not work (at least not for me). The only thing it did for me was bring about severe diarrea and made me extremly unconfortable. I would not recommend this method to my worst enemy!!!

I am 39 1/2 weeks...I can tell you that the castor oil thing did not work for me. I tried it twice and nothing. When I tried it yesterday, under my ob's recommendation, I had the runs really badly and started into labor but was sent home due to no progress. What is really odd is that I am 3 cm dialated and 80% effaced and have been for almost a week. I tried the pineapple, evening primrose, nipple stimulation, walking, and s_x...and still have no baby girl. Am wondering if there is anything else anyone can think of because they are telling me that we are going to schedule an induction on Monday and I really would like to avoid medical interventions of that degree if it is possible.

Well with my daughter I arched my back at the dr.s appt on my 36th week and they induced because they thought she was huge. I also did the blue and black cohosh and evening primrose oil and ladies trust me it made pushing way easier only 12 minutes and no trauma. This time i'd try just about anything good luck.

so far iv tried walking (to the extreme!) s_x, nipple stimulation, hot currys, cod liver oil, a whole fresh pineapple, going over speed bumps and evening primrose oil. the only option left is to take castor oil but iv heard so many horrible stories about it! guess im just gonna have to be patient...!

how can i bring on labour

Christie - March 21

DONT TRY CASTROL OIL THATS FOR CARS!! and as for Castor oil, dont do it..its not safe for mommy or for baby..it causes you to have diarrea and makes you very dehydrated...

kypsred - March 31

you should try caullophylum also known as blue or black cohosh, can get as tablets- but be careful and get advice from homeopath, it brings on sustains contractions - I used it last time and am now 38 weeks and will probably start taking it at 39 weeks, also take during first stage of labour to keep contractions strong, some people say it can be dangerous, but in the UK, midwifes have been using it for years. Aso reflexology, pineapple and clary sage is meant to be naturally inducing. Look up these ideas on the internet for further advice.... Good luck

I took castor oil with my first and it worked. It was the worst experience ever but more than worth it. Be prepared to have major diarrhea and maybe vomiting. Good luck!

to kypsred ...I got the blue cohosh in pill form and the nutritionist at the store said to take 3-4 pills every 3-4 hours. they are 500mg. Does that sound about right? My Dr. is against any kind of home inducing methods, so wont help me...do you know? And will it help? I am 40 weeks and ready to get this show on the road

kypsred - April 2

Hi Amy - my pills are 200mg, yours sound incredibly potent. If you trust the nutristionist go with her, I took one 3 times a day, your dose sounds really high but as I said I am not an expert. I came on time the first time; but I did everything together so I don't know what really worked, I had reflexology the day I went into labour, ate a pineapple, had been taking blue cohosh for a week; and also used clary sage in the bath, so not sure what pushed me, it might have just been my time. I am now 39 weeks and my back is in so much pain I can't do anything, luckily mum flying in to help today. Hang in there, it'll be over soon! Good luck to all of us!
