I've posted this a couple other places, but it doesn't seem like those topics are visited much.....But, I work in a granite shop, and have been on temp leave since Oct, since there's A LOT of HEAVY lifting, and the area where I work at is kinda slick from fine silt and water. But I was just wondering how long after giving birth you were able to/felt up to lifting heavy things? I really miss being at work, and the other people that are covering my position are morons and keep messing things up, so I was wanting to go back a month after delivering. Am I delusional?

well they normally want to keep you off of work for 6 weeks until your postpartum check up but you might change your mind once your baby gets here cause i was wanting to go back to work at 8 months with my daughter and i did but they ended up closing so i didnt work but two weeks but i wanted to work right after my daughter was born too but after she came i couldnt leave her side i didnt want to go back to work but i did when she was five months old but then she got a real bad flu so they let me quit on good terms and told me that when i was ready to come back to work but i didnt because the whole time i was working the babysitter told me all the cute things she was doing and i was missing out on all those things she was starting to sit up and crawl and make baby sounds and i was really upset that i missed all that so i stayed home and so i was going to go back to work after she was a year old but then i ended up pregnant again (i was on the pill) when she was 6 months old so i figured that i would just stay home and not try to work and i'm really glad that i did i mean money is tight but i got to see my daughter walk and say mommy and daddy for the first time and i dont regret it at all so i know what your feeling but just hang in there and see how you feel after you have your baby good luck
