i keep getting this feeling like i am getting poked in crotch. Sometimes it feel like i am going to wet myself. most of time it just feels like a stabbing pain. that wonderful pain is goes along nicely with the on and off feeling of pressure in my bum. i have had alot of back pain lately and on and off painful bh contractions. i remember my sister was complaining about the same feeling a few weeks before she went into labor. which would be a good thing if i wasn't only 34 weeks. baby needs to cook alittle longer. has anyone gone into preterm labor? and how did you know?

I have been having those pains for about 3 weeks now... I am 39 weeks and I still have them... I don't think it's the start of pre term labor.. I believe it's more of the baby head b___ting you or stretching out! Making room

what it is, the baby is pressing on a nerve. I was having the same pain, sometimes it gose up to the belly b___ton, and other times it is just at the bottom. I was worried so I asked my dr. it happens when the baby drops into position and his head presses on nerves.

I have the same exact pain and went to the doctor yesterday. I am 36 weeks. I thought maybe I was dilating because my bh have become wuite painful at times and I have also been having menstral type cramps and back ache. Not only am I not dilated, but baby's head is still high. This is my 3rd though and my second did not drop until I went into labor. Only a fews weeks to go...

this also is my third and i never dialated on my own. with my first i was five days late with "nonproductive contractions" so just induced me. my second baby was BIG so i have a full induction 10 days early. so i never really had/got to go in labor on my own. i just went through a delivery with my sister and it happened naturally for her, it was 8 hours from start to finish. my first was 16 and the second was 18.

I was induced with my first because my water broke and I had non-productive contractions. It was 2 days before my due date and he was born 6 hours after they started the Pitocin. My second I went conpletely on my own and she was born 8 hours after I got to the hospital (I arrived at 4cm) weighing 9lbs 13oz. This baby looks to be big also. I hope that is not why he has not engaged yet. I really hope I go before my due date because of his size. I gave birth to my daughter just fine, but I am so scared of needing a c-section because he gets too big. I am 10 years older now from the last time I gave birth and I am so afraid things won't go as smoothly.

your baby can drop anywhere from 4-6 weeks before your due date and thats when things can really uncomfortable for you. lots of pressure and even more uncomfortable peeing situations. You should be seeing your doctor soon, and he will check you and let you know about dialation and how low the baby is. As for contractions, you will know when they happen so everyone is right there. cant help you with pre term labor though, i was a week overdue.

well at 36w2d i went into labor for almost 4 hours (i was at the hospital) i dont know when they started i was just having severe back pain all day and then they became unbearable so i went i am now 36w5d im still having contractions but they only last for an hour now but i started getting that feeling about 3 weeks ago and sometimes its so painful i have to stop what im doing and hold on to something and my midwife said that i should have this baby by christmas ( i was dialated to 3cm) and knowing our luck that it will be christmas night my baby is engaged and last night it felt like he was going to come out he was pushing so hard and know i can feel him everytime i wipe but i did the same thing with my daughter except the contractions (with the poking pains) but they had to induce me at 39w cause i went into preeclampsia well that was what im going through good luck

the wiping thing is exactly what happens to me. when i wipe the baby moves. i can feel him jump. i have an apointment tomorrow so i will find out all my questions. i just hope he stays right where he needs to be for now. my second daughter was 9lbs4oz so i hope he is a smaller size just not early. atleast 4 more weeks. bryansmommy- you sound like you may not even make it to christmas. have they stripped your membrains yet? my sister was just were you were at her vist and she went into labor 3 days later. after walking and rasberry tea.

no i asked them about inducing this one earlier in my pregnancy and they said that they wouldnt induce they would strip my membranes at 38 weeks and i have one more week to go i just hopeing i make it to the hospital on time cause i live an hour away

I have had the pain for a couple of weeks now. I describe them as little electrical shocks in the crotch. My doctor a__sures me it is just the baby pressing his little head into my cervix. It hurts though. I am 36 weeks now, so I was about where you are when it started happening to me. I think that you are going to be fine and carry your little one to full term. Don't worry, just know that at least something is happening in there, and that your baby knows the way out when the time comes! Good luck to you!
