Is stretching the cervic the same as stripping the membranes or are the totally different. If anyone has had the membranes stripped what exactly was done to accomplish this and did it work.

i think its the same or you do it all at the same time cause when i went to get my membranes stripped my doc said she was going to strech my cervix and pull it forward. I've heard from lots of other people it was successful but not with me not yet and i had mine stripped yesterday and am going to have them stripped again tommorrow. my doc also said it was more successful with a few tries. Its just like an internal exam a bit uncomfortable but nuthin unbearable. Hope that helped

Its a normal procedure they do theres no reason that theyd look upon you badly. it doesnt even bring labor on for sure but it will help move things in the right direction. i asked my doc at 37 weeks if she could do it. If you just say you heard something about it on the computer and sugest they try it im sure they will or atleast they'll tell u why not to.
