I am 38 weeks and had my membranes stripped two days ago. The day I had it done I had heavy bleeding for about 3 hours and then just spotting through the night. The next morning when I got up I had lost my mucus plug. Does this mean that I couldnt be going into labor soon?

I hate to say it, but "no." I lost my mucus plug after a regular exam and that was over a week ago. I've seen women on here that have had it work and others that had it 2-3 times without success. I hope it does work for you!! It's just not guaranteed.

I think it depends on your body. I had my membranes stripped twice and was already dilated 2 cm and 4 cm at the time. It didn't do anything to induce my labor. I had also already lost my mucous plug as well. I ended up being induced at 38.5 weeks and had been dilated at least 2 cm since 35 weeks.

no it doesnt i wish!!!! i lost mine 3 weeks ago and still no baby there going to induce in a week i cant wait!!! good luck!!
