I had some Nitris paper and i thought my water bag broke so tested it and the paper turned blue which means aminiotic fluid is present.
i went to the doctor and they said they couldn't find any presence of A.F. so they sent me home. is there a possability that my water bag colse up? and that is why the paper was blue for me and not them?

well did they look at a sample under the microscope because i thought that my water broke and they did the nitris test and it came back negative but i didnt get to the hospital until two hours later so then most of it would be out of my system so they looked at it down at the lab and said that it wasnt but if your water did break then you should start having contractions with in a couple of hours and how much water came out was it a gush or a trikle

it was a gush and then it trickled into my underwear.

well then i would call your doc cause if your tested it and then you were still trickling then i would want to be seen cause if you dont go into labor soon after your water breaks then it can cause infections

with my 3 yr old i thought my water was leaking and went to the hospital adn they tested it and it did turn but when they tested it under the microscope it was not and they said it was urine .. that the hormones can make it change also .. and it took a few secs for it to change blueish-green .. and then a few days later my water did break and when i got checked it changed rt away there was no question ... also if u feel it again i would put on a pad cause they can check from the pad also .. and i had to be induced i did not go into labor on my own after my water broke .. GL and hope everything turns out ok :)

you might want to demand that they check though the lab because the same thing happened with my first one and i spent 4 days at home in full labor then found out i was right and that i had a high leak

I dont know about the bag of water breaking and being able to close up. But you dont always get contractions once your water breaks so that is not a reliable way. Both my previous pregnancies my water broke on its own but contractions would never start on their own for me. I always ended up having to be put on pitocin. Good luck!

Thank you all for your info! I think I really do have a high leak because I am still trickling and I my contractions are getting stronger, oh my gosh!! But I so tired of going to the hospital, I have been there a few times for the same reason but when they do the speculum exam nothing comes out and they send me home. So I guess I would rather lay in my own bed instead lay in that uncomfortable hospital just to be sent home in a hour or two because I have to drive like 30 mins. anyway.
