What Does Early Labor Feel Like

Can anyone tell me how they felt the day before labor began? I was told any day even though im not to term because as he said i was coming along early even though i hadnt dialated yet. im constantly crampy and having braxton hicks and today my pelvis just hurts...the front the back of it all, lol...that and it feels like iv been running and getting the hitch in certain spots in my stomach. i dont know how else to explain how i feel. im just not sure if this is normal "wear and tear" on my body or if it might be early labor. iv dropped about as low as he'll go (over 2 weeks ago) before he comes out but havnt passed my mp or anything yet either. the doctor said with the dialation that alot of times with first time moms that doesnt happen til labor sets in anyways? I thought that happens early because it seems like so many people on here are already effacing and dialating. im also not sleeping, hardly eating, always feeling sick to my stomach...lol im miserable...anyone who goes late has my DEEPEST sympathies. lol good luck and i appreciate any answers =-) happy new years

I remember with my first i had the cramping like your describing but i thought they were braxton hicks. But when labor started I knew it. I had back labor. I still didnt want to go the hospital though in case it was false labor. When i finally went in 5 hours later i was only 1cm though 100% effaced. But just 3 days earlier i was at 0cm and 0%. after about an hour in the hospital i was as 2cm and my water broke...from there it went much faster. With my second i was also at 0cm and 0% about 5 days before i had her. My water broke with her while i was sleeping though and i didnt start to have contractions untill about 1 1/2 hours later. I cant remember what i was at when i went into the hospital with her though. So not everyone starts to dialate or thin out so early. Hope this helps.......oh and the labor with my son started about 3 hours after s_x.
