Daniella thanks for the encouragement.... Well last night I have one of those cramping on my leg, it hurt so bad I woke up hubby and he was like oh my God and he started rubbing it 'til it went away. Didi you have one of those yet? How do we prevent from getting those? I had those on my first baby on both legs I cried at that time because they hurt so bad!:(

Lisa- thats funny you say that, because I get those leg cramps so bad also... I only had one where it was REAL bad and lasted a long time. The easiest way to stop them before they start is right when your tensing your muscles, RELAX. It seems when I wake up in the morning and stretch out my legs they start to cramp.. so, I immediately stop right then and it usually doesn't make it to a full b__wn cramp. So, do daily stretching that isn't too much along with exercising. I noticed when I have a weekend off work I will get them on like that sunday... because I didn't do anything so my muscles got too relaxed. So, if you don't do a lot, your feet usually cramp more. So, try to exercise them and if you feel one coming on stop and relax. Also, drink more fluids. :)

Daniella that was my first cramping with this pregnancy hopefully be the last one:) it came so unexpectedly and the more my husband rubs it the more it hurts... I tried relaxing it but mine just went to full b__wn cramping right away there's no way on stopping it going into almost like a big huge knot.:)

My friend is 4 weeks, high HCG counts, it dbl's daily they could not find a sac. She is spotting. Not sure what will happen. The doctor is not supportive!!!!!!!

kim - November 24

Tamera, If your friend is only four weeks they probably can't see anything. Why did they do U/S so ealry? Tell her to wait a few more weeks and have the test again.

Daniella - November 24

Is she 4 weeks from conception or 4 weeks gestation?? Also, once your HCG hits 2000 you should always be able to see something in the uterus then. If not and its getting that high that fast it could definitely be an ectopic. Also, it could also be a blighted ovum but the sac just hasn't appeared yet. But, you never know.... if it is only 4 weeks gestation and not 4 weeks since conception it could be OK still.. But, I will say this... hers sounds exacly like what mine did 3 years ago and I lost my right fallopian tube due to an ectopic that I put off and it finally ruptured. I should have known that the bleeding was not a good sign.

I too am going through a very similar situation. I had my first sono two weeks ago. I was almost 7 weeks at that point. They saw just the sac. So I went in for another one this past Monday...still just a sac. But my blood work came back and my HCG levels were high (31,000) and my progesterone was 16...all good but still no baby is seen. I know my dates aren't wrong b/c my husband and I were using ovulation kits to try to get pregnant. This is my 2ns pregnancy. My first went fine...I have a healthy beautiful boy......but this one seems all wrong. :-(

Have any of you who got pregnant right after a d&c ever have a miscarriage. I had a d&c at the end of september, got my first period in oct and this past week took a + pregnancy test. However, I just started to miscarry. The Dr. said it was a chemical pregnancy. Has anyone gone through a similar situation.

Daniella - November 30

Kim- sounds to me that your postive pregnancy test was just your old hormones and not a new pregnancy. It took me 5 weeks for my HCG to get down to 0 after my D&C. Your probably just had your first AF after.

Amy - November 30

Can anyone give advice on whether to have a D&C to make sure everything is gone (if we now know there is no baby is just a sac) or let it pa__s naturally? All you women out there, I feel for you. I too am going through the exact same thing! It does help knowing I'm not the only one out there. For those of you who had miscarriages, did you get pregnant again? Thanks.

Daniella - November 30

Amy- if you know 100% sure that it isn't going to be a viable pregnancy then a D&C is great. You don't have to always wondering "is today going to be the day" etc., etc., if you know what I mean. Always going to the bathroom wondering if you're going to see blood. Also, it helps because you get completely cleaned out and don't bleed nearly as bad as you would having a natural miscarriage. It also only takes like 10 to 15 minutes for the whole procedure, very quick, easy and simple. Just make sure that you are 100% comfortable with your decision. I have my 7.5 week ultrasound pic if you want to see to compare. I know my exact date of conception so I know its exactly as it should be. My Email is "Jarhead4me2@aol.com". My HCG was at 10,000 the day of my D&C and it took 4 weeks to get down to 5 and exactly the 5th week (so only days after it was down to 5) I ovulated and conceived. I am now 17 weeks today. I've had 3 miscarriages and no live births yet. And this one that I got pregnant the first ovulation after my D&C is the best pregnancy. :-) So there is hope!!!

maybe you ought to wait a week or two just in case - if you read some of the posts "stranger things have happened" just a suggestion - but when you are sure i agree with daniella about the d&c. take good care of yourself amy and i'm glad to hear that you already have a child, that in itself is a such a wonderful gift.

Michelle - December 1

yes, this has happend to me before, but i wasn't sure if any one else had before other than me. I was almost exactly 8 weeks into pregnancy when i was told of this too.

NATALIE - December 2

CHEER UP AMY. I WAS IN WEEK 6 AND WENT FOR MY SCAN TO FIND EVERYTHING SEEMED NORMAL. I RETURNED AGAIN 2 WEEKS LATER AND WAS HORRIFIED TO FIND THE BABY HAD NOT DEVELOPED AND THE SAC WAS ALMOST EMPTY. I WAITED 1 MORE WEEK BUT UNFORTUNATLEY I HAD TO HAVE A D& C. WAS TERRIFIED AS I HAD NEVER BEEN OPERATED ON BUT THE OP WAS SIMPLE. HOWEVER I WAS VERY SAD. 6 WEEKS LATER I RETURNED FOR A CHECK UP. I TOLD THE DOCTOR I FELT HEAVY AND HAD ACHING BREASTS, ETC AND FELT THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING LEFT INSIDE ME. HE DID A VAGINAL SCAN AND SAID"YES YOU DO HAVE SOMETHING IN SIDE YOU AND WITH A VERY STRONG HEARTBEAT.....I WAS PREGNANT AGAIN. THE PREGNANCY HAS BEEN GREAT AND I AM DUE THIS MONTH. I KNOW WHAT ITS LIKE TO LOSE A BABY BUT HAVE FAITH, KEEP PRAYING AND GOD WILL SEND YOU YOUR LITTLE BABY WHEN HE KNOWS ITS RIGHT FOR YOU.

Daniella - December 3

Natalie- thats funny because I got pregnant 5 weeks after my D&C also. :) I am just now 17 weeks with a healthy one. Having a D&C cleans you out real well, and I believe it helps your next implantation. Seems most heal faster with a D&C then a natural. Depending on how far along you were. :)

Kate - December 5

I'm very confused by all this now! Today I am supposed to be 8 weeks pregnant, and we went in for our first ultrasound. The doc couldn't find the baby, only the empty sac. The sac was round and I've had all the normal pregnancy symptoms--no bleeding or cramping other than when the egg was burrowing into the uterus a while ago. Tomorrow, I go in for another u/s and blood tests, but I want to be hopeful. The doc mentioned a DNC if the results tomorrow are unfavorable. But is there a chance they just can't see my baby--or that it's too small yet? I don't want to abort my baby if it's really healthy and growing.
