The doctor's took my hcg levels and they had gone down by from 14,000 to 13,000. They did another u/s and we actually saw the fetal pole but the sac was abnormal and the baby's growth was abnormal. It had died at 5 weeks and 6 days... I am 9.5 weeks. Tomorrow I am going in for the D and C surgery. I am extremely sad at our loss and a bit grossed out that the sac and contents are deceased inside me and have been for almost a month. The docs say the cause was chromosomal abnormality. I'm trying to stay positive and prepare for another attempt as soon as my doc's say it's alright. I have a better idea of what to expect now and will work as hard as possible to be as healthy as I can for the next conception. That's all I can do.

i am 6 weeks pregnant, having bleeding like period times,no cramping, having sac with fetus,its safe?

I went to have my D/C today but the nurse told me they were too busy (it was a same day emergency ob clinic) and to go get another blood test. When the result was in, the nurse called me and said that my HCG rose back up to nearly 15,000. I asked if it was possible that it was a viable pregnancy and she said not likely. I still have no bleeding or cramps, have gained weight appropriately, still have sore b___sts, tiredness, a big appet_te. etc. Tomorrow I am going in first thing for labs and probably another scan. I'm not going to do the D/C anymore, not at least until it becomes so obviously plain that there is no baby or my levels have dropped steadily. My arms are so sore from all the blood tests and IV's since Saturday :( and I am extremely confused. I was ready to let go today, and then I got that call and I am filled with hope again. And about my sac being abnormal... I've seen plenty of scans online where the sac was bean shaped and many other shapes and they were not called abnormal. Some women have even posted that their sac changed shape into the circular one that is suppose to be "normal." I am so lost, God help us. Update tomorrow.

The ultrasound didn't see my baby till 10 weeks...My hcg levels were very high and there was no visual sign of the baby.Because of this my doctor had to a__sume the worst and scheduled a dnc and told me my sac was empty and although I'm pregnant there is no baby... I decided to wait even tho this is horribly difficult and at 10 weeks we finally saw a big healthy baby in the monitor. Please wait your baby is so tiny and so many women have lost babies because of advise from a doctor, they have to go by test and what they see. You have to use your own judgement and blind faith It was worth the wait for us. If my sac continued to show no baby at 11 weeks at lest i could know I did all I could. I expected the worst and hoped for the best and I am now 22 weeks pregnant with a boy. .... so wait till at lest 11 weeks, babies hide... I also found out that if yolk is present then baby is as well and probably hiding behind the yolk. Alot of Doctors wont even do an ultrasound till after 8 weeks because of this.

I had a miscarriage in early November, and found out i was pregnant at the end of January.From the date my husband and i started trying I'm about 7 1/2 weeks and I've had my 3 u/s today, there is a sack but no baby(just a speck).The dr is telling me to have a DnC or take some pill v____ally.I have no symptoms of a miscarriage and my pregnancy symptoms keep increasing.After reading about 40 of you ladies stories I'm confuse and don't know what to do....please help...thanks!

actually, I'm not going to make you wait for my reply once you reply so here is what I would do, If you did not have a DnC in November get your HCG levels checked and make sure they're going up at the rate they should be. I found out shortly after my miscarriage that I was pregnant again and that turned out to be false.. It was tissue from the previous pregnancy. I had all the symptoms of being pregnant and none of having a miscarriage... If you DID have the DnC don't give up hope yet.. You're still early! Where I live OBGYN's will not allow U/S until 11 weeks unless there's reason for concern. The reason for that is, dating could be wrong, things may not be progressing the exact same as other pregnancies.. Don't give up hope yet.. Speically considering you have no symptoms of a miscarriage. Let your body do the natural things.. the waiting game is going to be extremely hard but, if you don't wait you may regret it in the future... I hope my respone help and best wishes to you.

After i had the miscarriage my doc kept checking my blood level until it was under 5.I had my period dec26 and my husband and i started to try Jan 9th, i did not have my first obgyn visit until Feb 15....then Feb19 then Feb 28.The doc said all the say the 2nd and 3rd time was a small halo but at this point they should be seeing more.So that's why the gave me the pill which i haven't took yet.

Hello Everyone, I have spent the last 24 hours reading all the different posts. I need help. I had ectopic 5 months ago, that required surgery, I am not pregnant again, my dates are 100% correct, and I am not 9weeks 4 days. At 7+2 I went for internal u/s (as previous ectopic)I had very very light brown spotting also. Doc took his time but eventually told me all was fine,He made me put my fists under my bum in order to see?? seen heartbeat and blob in the sac, I was told to come back in 2 weeks just to re check for rea__surance. I went back 2 days ago and got different doc but a nice man who scanned me for at least 20 mins (internal) but sac was empty... nothing inside..measuring 7+3, I know I am 9+2 he was very kind and said he hoped he was wrong but said it is likely not a viable pregnancy. The took bloods which came back at 42,000, I have had repeat bloods but will not know results until tomorrow My question is... Can the baby we saw just disappear with sac in tact???? Also if baby died 2 weeks ago is 42,000 not very high, would levels not have dropped??? I really hope someone answers me, this is the best site I have come across... Thanks u all so much

Hello Jayne, You just gave me all the hope in the world! i have been married for 1 year and conceived for the first time on our 1 yr anniversary. All my husband ever talks about is kids and a big family. My concern started when i was 5 weeks i got an U/S and the Doc said it was an empty sac. At 7 weeks pregnant i did another U/S and Doc said it is a threatened AB in other words miscarriage. They cannot detect a heartbeat and cannot find a fetal pole. All the Doc was able to see was the sac, the yolk and tissue that never developed. I didnt want to hear it, I believed with all my heart the U/S tech was rushing the procedure and corrupting the images. I went to a second Doc whom a___lyzed the same U/S scan and states the same thing. Both Doc's suggested a D&C which devastated us. Before any action is taken we insisted on another U/S and we have one scheduled for 7/26. I hope to GOD i see a baby or atleast a fetus. My HCG levels are 51,000 and rising. Doc's still want to terminate our pregnancy but i will wait until i know for sure. I will be 8 weeks by then. Wish me luck and i will let you know what happens.

Hello everyone Please help me figure this out. I have been crying and hyperventilating all day long. Here is my info My 1st day of my last period was June 13, 2011 and the only day I had s_x that month was 6/28/2011. So I am 7 weeks. I went for ultrasound yesterday and they said it looks to be 5 weeks which is impossible because I know for sure on my dates. So the dr sent me for blood tests and my level came back at 3664 so the dr told me that was low and that he is expecting me to miscarry but he is sending me for blood work again on Wed to see the numbers but he said he is about positive this is not a viable pregnancy. Please tell me what u think please I am so distraught. Thanks in advance.

Hi Everyone, I commented on this post back in 2007. I am writing because I often read your comments and I understand exactly what you are all going through, so I would like to give you an update as I believe this will help you see you can get through this. I now have five children, along the way I had 5 miscarriages, some of them unexplained and three of them blighted ova. One of them was an incomplete miscarriage and needed a D and C. After each of them I became pregnant again (within 6 weeks) and had a healthy baby with no problems during the pregnancy except for a small amount of bleeding in the first trimester with my last (now 3 yrs old). So please be strong and trust in God to lead you through. I am thinking of all of you

Mlands26 Hi there! I am a bit worried and confused. Per my lmp I should be 7 weeks and 3 days pregnant. Went to the dr yesterday and ultrasound showed gestational sac and yolk sac, the midwife advised for blood work for hcg levels and repeat ultrasound in one week, my hcg level came back 9152. My hubby and I decided to seek a 2nd opinion. Per ultrasound today, there is a gestational sac and fetus with hb of 105bpm. Dr from today seemed concerned that sac was small and hb was low and suggested that a miscarriage was inevitable. He said that according to ultrasound I am 5 weeks 3 days. I am confused as to how one day there was nothing and not even 24 hours later there is a fetus and hb? Is it possible that the date are off. I know that I ovulated on the 29th bc we were using opk to pinpoint and my husband works out of town and was gone the week leading to the 29th and the night after the 29th he left again. I am so confused and worrying sick.

Update Update Update: Went and had 2nd blood hcg test today and it is 4963. Which is a 35.5% increase in 2 days. Monday it was 3664. Dr still telling me he thinks I will miscarry but told me to come in on Aug 11th for another sonogram.... Please tell me what u all think please I am so stressed out..

Today 8-11-11 went to dr again (which was 10 days later than last one) for another ultrasound and now there is fetal pole which was not there 10 days ago. But they said there is no heartbeat. They said that my 1st sonogram showed 5 weeks 2 days with no fetal pole and no heartbeat and today showed 5 weeks 5 days with fetal pole but no heartbeat (ten days later) and I have a large sack. They were gonna schedule me for D&C but I just walked out upset. Can anyone please tell me what you think please I am going crazy.

mlands26, Same thing happend to me I DID NOT DO DNC and now my baby is 6 weeks old... Wait it out nature takes time....
