KP Oh my gosh you are a strong lady to go through that. My first miscarriage was so easy. I had cramps for about 45 minutes and then went to the bathroom pa__sed the tissue and it was over but I was only 7 weeks. I am so sorry you had to go through that. You will be able to try again soon. Your body knows and wants to carry a pregnancy...look how long your body held on to this one. I go tomorrow for the confirming "no heartbeat" ultrasound and then will get the "contracting pills" your Dr gave you. I guess it takes 24 hours and then it will be over. Two babies...how sad I would have thought at least one would have survived. Dr said we can do the IUI again in December. I will be thinking about you and if I have any questions I will write you. Thanks for sharing your story as scary as it was for you. Please keep in touch.

I had my D & C procedure yesterday morning and it went very smoothly. I had minimal cramping and I actually stopped bleeding (I am just spotting now) as of this morning. I am glad that I decided to go this route as it was not painful at all and my hormone level dropped immediately (I was having morning sickness). I would have been prepared for a natural miscarriage if it would have occured before the scheduled D & C too though. KB - I am sorry your experience with the miscarriage was so horrible for you. It truly makes the emotional rollercoaster that much more painful. I certainly hope that your body recuperates very soon from it. Gina - Please keep me posted now that you have started taking the pills to abort. May this process be over with soon so that you can put it behind you. I know I sound like a broken record but... remember that you know you can get pregnant since you have gone through this. You can try again in a few months and hopefully your body will produce a healthy baby the next time around. Good luck to all.

Well I took the Cytotec and before they were even dissolved under my tongue I spiked a fever that went up to 103.7 I started shaking uncontrolably. That lasted for about an hour and then the cramps kicked in and the bleeding started after 2 hours. The pain was pretty intense. I took a Vicodin and went to bed and when I woke up I felt fine and was just spotting. It was over pretty quickly for me. Now I just have yucky brown spotting. I go for a recheck on Wed. I would think if it didn't all come out I would still be bleeding but who knows. Just thought I would share my story if anyone goes the Cytotec route. it wasn't that bad.

I go in for an u/s tomorrow morning. I am 7w4d according to my lmp. I have seen 2 doctors, one says he sees an embryo but no heartbeat and the other says he sees no embryo at all. Tomorrow's appointment will be the determining factor on whether this is a viable pregnancy or not. I can't decide whether to let the mc happen naturally if that is God's choice, or if I should have a d&c. Please pray for a heartbeat.

Hope your u/s goes well, it is nerveracking experience. I am in the same boat at the moment (waiting for next u/s, dates behind, slow h/b etc). Hopefully you will see h/b, i have been thru this before and have waited to naturally miscarry everytime, relatively painless except for the waiting part which took about 2-3 weeks each time but less chance of infection or other problems than d&c. I guess everyone has different ideas but my m/c's have been like heavy periods with one day of bad bleeding/clots then back to normal cycle within 30 days.

hi girls. i would like to say don't give up hope anything is possible. i had been pregnant 2 times before i actually had my daughter- each ended because i had bleeding at 4 weeks and then again at 7 weeks and then lost the babies naturally. with my daughter i started down the same tract with bleeding at 4 weeks, 8 weeks but this time did not loss her. i went into premature labour at 29 weeks which lasted 3 days ( i was very lucky as they were going to do a c- section and take her but i lost my bed for her in the hospital and they transfered my to another hopspital at this hospital the labour stopped) i kepted going into labour but did not actually have her until 35 weeks. i recently feel pregnant again and of cause had bleeding at 4 weeks and then again at 7 weeks and this time the doctor gave me a d&c as their were no heartbeats. so i recently lost twins. i will say the d&c is better emotionally then loosing then naturally as it is not as frightening and you can deal with it better. i will be going back to the doctors in 6 weeks to get results from my test to see if they can find why i am having these bleeds. the funny thing is although it is very hard to deal with and it hurts when your friend have babies. it dose bring back memories and it does hurt but it is worth it in the end we have 1 child out 0f 5 and she is our little miracle. My husband and i have made a garden and put special plants in it for our lost children. we will try again and hopefully not have to plant too may more trees - plants for our lost children,

Has anyone ever went for an us and the doc found a sak but nothing else. I was later sent to the hospital to have my hcg levels tested and they were at 23,000. The hospital staff said there is a chance that i am not that far along but caring twins has anyone of been through this.

T- how far along are you supposed to be? I went in at 6 weeks and they only saw a 4 week sac w/no baby. I went back in 8 days later and they clearly saw a baby with heartbeat. I went in again at 12 weeks and they saw 2 babies w/heartbeats!! So, they don't always see what they expect on an u/s...and nature is kind of funny in that all babies do not start out developing at the same rate. So they are right in saying that you could just not be showing on the u/s and it could be alright, especially as your beta level is quite high. Let us know what the next beta (hcg) level is...the number should double every 48 hours ( or close to double). Sometimes they don't quite...mine were like a 100 or 200 short of doubling - so I was really surprised to find twins!! I would've thought my betas would have been much much higher? Keep us posted, ok? Good luck to you. "God Bless!"

Hi everyone! I'm 18 yrs old, this is my 1st pregnancy. I went to my obgyno and was not sure when was my last period was, but we estimated that i was 4W4D preg. Now I should be 10W4D. I went yesterday to have my 1st U.S. to determine exactlly how far along my preg. i really was. My husband and I saw the baby in the sac. The doctor then told me that there was no heatbeat and that I was 9W4D so that the baby had been dead for a week. I felt confused and upset beacuse i have heard in many cases that u can't hear the heartbeat beacuse it could be to early or that the baby is in a certain position that does not let you hear a heartbeat. I'm not cramping nor bleeding at all. I plan to wait, keep doing more U.S. and get some blood work done to find out my HCG levels. On monday i'm going for a second U.S. My family and I are praying that everything turns out fine.

I am sorry to hear the sad news. Do feel free to wait and see...always the best for your soul. I do hate to say, though, that a baby measuring 9 weeks should have a heartbeat. I do hope you have better news at your next u/s. We are praying for you. "God bless you and those you love!"

it is really helping to read all your stories. I am going through the same thing. I had an US done on the 13th of Oct and it showed a sac and yolk of 6wks and 3days, but no heartbeat. (is the yolk the embryo?). All tests show i'm still pregnant but i'm waiting on my HCG levels. I'm trying to be positive, I'm going for another US next week, has anyone not seen a heartbeat at 6wks and then they have at 7wks or so. My thoughts are with all of you going through this difficult time.

Hi Viv, The yolk sac is not the embryo. The embryo is called the "fetal pole". There is a gestational sac which the baby lives in and the yolk sac which nourishes the baby until the placenta takes over. Hope that clears things up. I would not worry to much if I were you. A lot could change in a week and I am sure you will see the heartbeat at your next u/s. Keep your head up and I will say a little prayer for you and all of the other mommas going through this!

I have a similar situation although I am behind you by two weeks. My doctor has not mentioned Miscarriage, Blighted ovum or anything. I do know that it is not an ectopic preg. I know the exact date I concieved, however I am developing two weeks slower than that. So at what should be SIX weeks, I am showing a four week progress with a egg sack and yolk sack, no mention of fetus.
Any thoughts ladies? Poor Sameen and I seem to be stressing out here. Some positive news would be helpful? -Andrea
