Can someone tell me what the normal level for an afp test is? My wife had an afp that came back with 2.03 for spina bifida. They asked her to re-take it a week later and it came back at 2.43. The day she took the second one, she also noticed some spotting of blood which went away the next day. We now have to go for a level II ultrasound and are extremely nervous. Can someone tell me what a normal level is? I have read tons online about false positives, etc just am worried.
