When can foetal heartbeat first be detected ?

My doctor heard my little ones heartbeat with a doppler the first time he tried. I was 8w 4d along. From what I understand it can be anywhere from 7-14 weeks before it is heard. It just depends on how much you weigh, where exactly the baby is laying, etc...Good luck.
