From Just Spotting To A Misscariage

I am 11 weeks pregnant and have been spotting from about 7 weeks. How can you tell that you are misscarying when there are so many women that spot throughout their whole pregnancy and have healthy babys. Is going through the actual misscariage very painful?

A miscarriage is very sad, i had one more than 8 years ago and yes it is very painful, physically and mentally, just get yourself checked out, im sure you will be fine.

Have you told your doctor about this? I had a miscarriage in July and it didn't hurt me physically at all, it was hard to believe I was miscarrying. You need to go see your doctor!

Christina--My doctor knows all about it. I have had 2 u/s that showed a good heart beat. For some reason I just keep spotting and as far as I'm concerned I'm still not out of the danger zone so I'm still scared that I may miscarry.

Has your dr checked your progesterone levels? I am also 11 weeks and just started spotting today. I was taking progesterone supplements but stopped taking them for the past few days beause I hate the side effects. (I know, I know. Bad idea.) I started taking them again and will continue until my dr says I'm okay.

bridget, i know waht you mean about the side effects. my sister's doctor believes in progesterone supplements, but my doctor does not. there seems to be a big controversy surrounding this. my doctor told me that many women have low progesterone and are fine. i too am spotting again and am so nervous and i feel like i am going crazy. should i have taken the supplements? but i know if i did take them i would be scared of the side effects too. i have a healthy baby boy and so i trust that my body knows how to do this! i know many women spot, but it is still scary to see it. good luck to everyone.

Donna, all I know is that I had a miscarriage in January around 7-8 weeks and I had low progesterone. Since I've been taking supplements this time I have had no problems until I recently stopped taking them. So it could be a coincidence but I don't want to take any chances. How far along are you?
