Hi, am about 3 weeks pregnant, started spotting a few days ago, which has now lead to fairly heavy bleeding, could this be a miscariage?

I am six weeks pregnant. I was light bleeding at 5 weeks, they did an ultrasound and told me everything looked great and not to worry. Now I am headed into week 7 and the bleeding has become quite heavy, like a period (I fill two or three pads a day). This has been going on for three days now and I am terrified of a miscarriage. Is there anything I can do? Is it inevitable that I am going to lose this baby?.

Lori it sounds like you may be having a miscarriage. Is there any cramping at all with the bleeding. Bleeding alone isn't necessarily a mc but usually with both it is. Two to three pads a day wuld be considered moderate to heavy bleeding I would think. I don't know if there is anything to do about it. If you have health insurance I suggest going to the er asap and getting your bloodwork checked and an ultrasound. Good luck.

I suppose I knew it all along - I did miscarry. I was just hoping so much that it wouldn't be true. Now that I know, I do feel better somehow though. The not knowing part was really the worst. If I had been any farther along I think it would have been much much harder for me. This was just like a heavy period - I didn't have to deal with any large pieces of tissue, I never even really had any pregnancy symptoms. I guess I'll try again for a baby as soon as I'm able. Good luck to all in similar situations.
