My wife is 14 weeks and has been having a rough time since week 7. First she was diagnosed with hyperemesis. We were referred to Matria (great bunch of people) and they put her on a Zofran Infusion Pump. That worked for a bit and we now have to supplement the Zofran with Reglan. After we got this under control, her feet became swollen, bruised and very painful. So painful that she can barely walk. Soon after this she came down with a sore throat that has made it very painful to talk. She has numerous ulcers on the back of her throat and it is becoming harder and harder to eat and drink for her. We have been to 8 doctors (2-ER, 2-GP, 2 Vascular Surgeons, 2-OB). They have ruled out and circulatory problems at this point. The best we can get is...."I know you need help now, I just don't know what kind of help you need." Needless to say this is very frustrating because I am watching her quality of life dissipate with every waking moment. They believe she has an auto-immune problem and want to start her on either heparin or coumadin next week. The only way she is currently getting any relief is by taking hydrocodone. We did not want to use this med for fear of damage to the baby, but the pain became absolutely unbearable. We are concerned for the baby but I am more concerned about my wife. Anyone with similar symptoms or ideas? Any help is greatly appreciated. I told her our next step was a voodoo witch doctor.....(just kidding) Thanks........
