I was diagnosed with marginal placenta previa this morning. Everything I have read so far talks about being diagnosed after 20 weeks. I am only 15 weeks. Is there a greater chance for the placenta to move up being under 20 weeks or is there a higher risk being diagnosed earlier? I also do not qualify for any of the "risk factors" that may cause this. I am 31, first pregnancy, never smoked, no drugs, no multiple. Any info for mothers diagnosed prior to 20 weeks with marginal placenta previa would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

I was diagnosed with my first child. I found out early on about the same time you did. It moved up nicely and I had no problems delivering.

I was diagnosed with placenta previa at 18 weeks and told I should not exercise or have intercourse. We checked again at 25 weeks and the placenta has not moved. We are scheduled to check again at 31 weeks. I too do not have any of the risk factors. I am 28 & this is my first pregnancy. My doctor does not seem too concerned. However I am worried that I could begin to bleed & be put on bed rest.
