No Heart Beat HCG Levels Still Double

I am 8 weeks and On tue. I had heavy bleeding, I was sent to the ER. They did an ultrasound no signs of miscarriage, but ne fetal heart beat was seen. My HCG levels were high. I have no more bleeding. I went to the doctor on Thursday another ultrasound still no heart beat. Another blood test and my HCG levels had doubled just like they do in a normal pregnancy. I have another Ultrasound in 1 week to check for fetal heat rate. My first question is how early are you able to see not hear a heart beat in an ultrasound? Also if a miscarriage is taking place wouldn't my HCG levels be dropping? Could it be possible that it is just to early to see the heart rate. Please help.

Amy i went in at 6wks 5d and all we could see was heart motion we could not even really make out the fetal pole at all i went back in in 2 weeks and then we seen the baby clearly and the heart rate was 188bpm good luck and i hope all goes well!!
