On March 9th I had a blastocyst (5 day) IVF tranfer and had a positive test two weeks later. My first ultrasound was at 5wks, 4days and sac measured 4.5 barely visible, with no heartbeat and no yolk. 2nd ultrasound a week later still showed the sac, although much more visible, at 4.5mm but still no hb or yolk detected. I have been on 1cc/day of progesterone since the egg retrieval and the dr. says stop the injections and look for a bleed within 5 days. If no bleed by then, I should schedule a D&C. Please provide some feedback on whether it may still be too early. I'm afraid to stop the injections when it just might be to early.

Nichole
I've heard 8 weeks is the critical time for no heartbeat on a v____al u/s. Don't do a D&C until your sure there's no hope. I'm very sorry for you - I did IVF too and I know its horrible enough without pregnancy problems. I stopped progesterone at week 4 and am now 11 weeks (though with a very large blood clot and a terrible pregnancy so far). Good luck.

Nicole, I can relate to your pregnancy. I had a blastocyst IVF transfer and had a positive test. My levels looked great for the next two weeks. The day we were to find out if there were one or two babies was such a shock. The Dr. said that there was no yolk nor heartbeat and it did not look good . We are waiting for my HCG results and another ultrasound in a few days. A D&C was also mentioned. I am getting a second opinion to get more answers.

I am hoping that it all works out for you! My husband and I just found out we are 5wks 5d with twins! Their hb is LOW (94 and 96) They are doing a second ultrasound in 2 weeks!! This our first so I am not an expert (in fact I could use some guidance!) But I wish you luck!!
