Positive AFP Test Plus Enlarged Uterus

I went tto the doctor for my 15th week check up. I have already had two previous ultrasounds. The first one checked out fine. The second one according to the ultrasound the baby was about a week bigger then what the baby should be. Ok, no problem. So, I went in for my 15 1/2 week check up and they took the alpha-fetoprotein test. I just got called today and have a positive result. ALSO when I was in during my 15 1/2 week check up, my doctor found that my uterus was larger then normal. My uterus is about a month larger then normal. It is currently at my belly button and is actually only suppose to be between my pelvis and belly button. This is my 8th YES! 8th pregnancy, but my current husbands first child. We are worried sick. We now have to go through genetic testing plus have a level 2 ultrasound. Can any one give me any insight on any of this? Thanks for reading and your time:)

I'm so sorry to hear your news.... I have heard a lot of comments about the inaccuracies of that test, though, so I'm hoping it's wrong for you too... Over on the "General Pregnancy" topic, there's several threads about another mom who had a "positive" test, and found out today the test was incorrect. The first one is called "bad bad test results for lovely" the other one is called "Lovely~" I think you might find something to relate to in her experience... Good luck!
