My daughter had a Choroid Plexus cyst. They did a 2nd state U/S and offered me a amnio. The chances of me causing a problem were the same as her having a problem, besides, they didn't figure it out until 5mo. I prayed alot and she was born healthy and is now 6 and beautiful, smart and no problems what so ever! I swear with this pregnancy I am NOT doing any of those tests. like AFP, they said she may have Down Syndrome. Gees, they drive you nuts!

i just wanted to add my story im 22 and pregnant with my third child who has a cpc aswell as a extra bit of heart muscle, i just wanted to say that these are called soft markers because they COULD indicate a problem but more than likely they are just normal things that have been picked up now due to our advanced technology as everyone is stating they are having second u/s done this is usually to check growth of baby not whether the cysts are still present the cysts dissappear before baby is born but sometimes having a cyst can indicate a chromosome disorder thats why you are told about them but i was told i wouldnt have been told if it was not for the other soft marker found many babies have these cysts and have no probs

Just wanted to add another positive outcome. We had another ultrasound today and met with a genetic specialist.The cyst is gone and she said everything else looks great. There is nothing else to suggest anything is wrong. She also said Trisomy 18 is extremely rare. I wish everyone else the best.

Tuesday of last week, my husband and I found out the cysts are gone. Everything else looks fine with our little girl. I am 28 weeks now. We are being hopeful and prayerful that I do not have her early. My son was born at 31 weeks. I would like to say please remain prayerful and positive. God Bless

Tracy--you are the only post I have read that has found exactly what was found on my scan yesterday when i went for my amnio--2 soft markers and the same ones. Do you mind if I ask...is all well? I am so scared. I have had two previous miscarriages--one of which was a trisomy (which is why i got the amnio) and am scared it will happen again... My dr did not tell me what happens when there are TWO soft markers, DOES ANYONE KNOW?? are they still soft markers or does that make it more likely something is wrong? I guess just wait and see...

Denise, My son also was diagnosed with 2 soft markers: 1 CPC and a shortened femur. We were terrified, especially when told that there were 2 markers, but because they were soft we declined the amnio and "faithed it out" for the rest of the pregnancy. Max Ian was born HUGE and HEALTHY on 9/27/05! Just believe that this child WILL be fine and stay positive - this time everyhting will work out! I had ultra sound at 21 weeks,they had found a cyst on the right and left side of the brain.I go in for my ultra sound in the morning to see if the cysts have gone away.I am so worried I can't stand it.What they never told me is,what happens if it is not gone.Does anyone know what will happen if it is not gone?Please help.

JAMIE, MY BABY HAD THE CYSTS ON MY 16 WEEK ULTRASOUND AND WITHIN 5 DAYS, THEY WERE GONE. I AM NOW 35 WEEKS PREGNANT, AND WHEN I WENT FOR MY LAST ULTRASOUND LAST WEEK, THE SONOGRAPHER PERSONALLY TOLD ME THAT THE CYSTS ARE VERY COMMON, AND DON'T MEAN A THING. TRY NOT TO WORRY, SHE SAID 99% OF THE TIME THEY RESOLVE THEMSELVES, IF THEY DO NOT, IT STILL DOES NOT HAVE ANY AFFECT ON THE BABY. HOPE EVERYTHING GOES WELL FOR YOU, AS IM SURE IT WILL!

Just had an ultrasound for my baby of 18 weeks. Bilateral choroid plexus reported.. And, the doctor asked me not to bother, as everything else is fine.. I was terrified, and started searching the net to know more about this, and came accross this section. I am relieved that I am not alone in this. Lot of people have undergone the same thing. I wonder why the doctor should tell me at all, if it is not a big deal. Anyway, I hope for the best, and have faith in God.

Hello...hoping someone could help. I am 25 weeks pregnant and 25 years old. I have one very healthy 2 year old boy whom I had no issues with my pregnancy. Now I am pregnant with another boy and I got my ultrasound results back and he has a Isolated echogenic intracardiac foci--and I have a low lying placenta. This scared me to death....The doc was not at all concerned about the Isolated echogenic intracardiac foci --- he was more concerned about the placenta---I am so scared of Down Syndrome---I didnt get the triple screen so I don't know the results---I am losing so much sleep over this. I hate it.

sorry to hear of everyone's worries!today i had my 20 week scan and the docs noticed a cpc and a bright spot on the heart.i can't believe my baby is not perfect!after alot of crying and worry, reading all the wonderful words of comfort and info on here has really made me feel alot better.i hope all is well with your babies and i wish you all the best.i'm going to find out alot more on the internet and have a more detailed scan on friday.i just have to stay positive and pray.

We just welcomed our healthy daughter into the world on Christmas morning. She too had these cysts show up on an ultrasound. We were very worried at first and then became more comfortable after visiting sites like these. Our baby girl is healthy and strong, and although I know there is no point in saying don't worry, everything really will be ok. Good luck to everyone.

Hello, I'm 20 weeks pregnant and my husband and I were too just told this baby has multiple choroid plexus cysts and something about the heart ( I started to blank out once she mentioned cysts). Of course I freaked out and am having another ultrasound next week also she wanted an echogram down on the babys heart. She told us not to worry but I have two things showing up and I'm going crazy thinking about what's wrong. Has anyone else had both of these things show up for them?

Hi Misty, i have the same marks. My baby also have bilateral Choroid Plexus cysts (CPC) and white spot on the heart (EIF). we found it last tuesday (24 th Jan) and i went for amnio. i will get my result in two weeks and i will let you know definitely. since i read both posts from this site, i am little relaxed but i am waiting for the result. If you read the posts from mounika on april 27 and july 15, you will feel better. she had the same marks. Try to relax, everything would be fine.....

im not sure if ive posted in here before but my doctors also found multiple choroid plexus cysts at my 17 weeks scan and at 24 weeks they are gone! WE are going to have a perfect boy

I OPTED NOT TO HAVE THE AMNIO, DUE TO THE RISKS, SO I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND THE WORRY ALL OF YOU FEEL, BECAUSE I TOO WAS IN YOUR SHOES, BUT PLEASE TRY NOT TO WORRY...EASIER SAID THAN DONE, I KNOW, BUT I HOPE MY STORY WILL PROVIDE A LITTLE COMFORT FOR YOU ALL, BEST OF LUCK TO EACH OF YOU FOR HEALTHY BABIES!!!
