Ten weeks ago I had a m/c or rather (I was told) a blighted ovum. I havent had a period yet. My hormone level is dropping really slow. The doctor said it is urgent that I come in. Did an ultrasound it showed some stuff that I guess is left over from the m/c. Is this normal to maybe have to have a d&c ten weeks after a miscarriage??

Well, do you know what your HcG levels are? I imagine they must be fairly high if they think something could be seen on the u/s. The fact that your levels are dropping would indicate a m/c. I had a similar experience. I m/c right after finding out I was pregnant. Follow-up bloodwork showed that my HcG was increasing! They did an u/s and it showed some thickening of the lining (indicating some remaining tissue). The Dr. was hopeful that I would get my period and the remaining tissue would be shed. Sure enough, I just got my period last week (a month after my m/c) and now bloodwork shows my HcG levels dropped off significantly. The Dr. did discuss the need for a D&C or drugs if my body didn't expel the tissue on its own. I believe it's called an 'incomplete miscarriage' and sometimes a D&C is required due to risk of infection. I'm so sorry for your loss and I'm sorry that this is continuing, it can be so confusing and sad.
