I have just had an ectopic pregnancy an my tube was removed. The doctor said it is very rare but that my body is showing all the signs of a normal pregnancy also. Is this possible??? How will I know? If so could I miscarry also, or will I endure further complications?? Please help!

I have heard of this happening (pregnant in womb and in tube) though as you say it's rare. If your doctor suspects you are still carrying a pregnancy is he/she not going to scan your womb to make sure? I realise a test will not be accurate as would pick up on hormones from eptopic pregnancy but there must be something he/she can do to determine if this is in fact the situation? If there is still a pregnancy there I don't see why there is more chance of a miscarriage than there would be normally as presumably when they removed your tube they didn't go into your uterus or that area so it should have been unharmed. If there was still a pregnancy how far on would it be? What signs did the doctor think signalled a pregnancy remaining -did they say?
