I am 33 years old, 7 weeks pregnant with my second child, AFTER a tubal ligation 6 months ago. The day before I discovered I am pregnant, my doctor recommended hysterectomy because of 2 large fibroids: 6x6cm near cervix and 7x9cm on outside of uterus, both grown quickly this year. I want to carry this child to term but fear miscarriage or extreme prematurity, even with bedrest. In the best case scenario I imagine I would have c-section delivery immediately followed by hysterectomy. Any idea what are my chances? Thanks so much...

People do not have hysterectomy these days just cause of a couple of fibroids, If I were you I would get a different doctor. I had 4 fibroids removed 3 years ago, the biggers one measuring 13cm diameter. I am now 5 months pregnant and have again a few fibroids, I do have pain sometimes from them but there is no reason to beleive that I shouldnt carry to term. I will deliver by c-section because of the scaring from the last op. But certainly no Hysterectomy, what your doctor is saying is nothing short of barbaric!! I hope all goes well with you. Love Vicky
