Eva, well acouple post ago i have posted that this month has been horrible for me with my period. Since I got the paragard in March my periods have been pretty much normal, some heavier then others but always a month apart, well this month I was bleeding for days then it finally stopped then came back then stopped and now i am on it once again, getting the pain like I usually do, back aches and cramps and bloating, plus wanting lots of chocolate. I go get my blood test tomorrow to see if my blood count is okay, then from there decide if I want the paragard out, so we will see i already have 2 and not quite ready for an another yet,,,, but just keep track of your days of how long you are bleeding and then call your doctor, but hey i feel for you it sucks bleeding for a long time

Eva-- As you remember I had a period and started 2 week later and bled whats seemed to be forever. You need to go back to your doctor and tell him how you feel, I did and seemed to kick some a__s in gear. I bled for almost a month.

Well, here's the thing...I am not even bleeding. Just having all of the other symptoms. I probably won't even bleed for another 2 weeks but I will continue to feel like I am going to start until then. Then I bleed for 2-3 days very very lightly, then a week after the bleeding stops, I am back to feeling PMSy again for 2 more weeks. I am definately going to my OB/GYN about tis and have talked to my boyfriend about the possibility of getting this thing out. It just sucks because it IS super convenient and all. But ya know, my problems are nothing compared to the c___p these poor other girls are enduring. I am truly sorry for you all. Please keep us posted. We care.

Well i got my blood test results back for my blood count and everything is great!! so thank fully I wasnt losing too much blood, My doctor says that the spotting and bleeding irregularly is normal sometimes with the iud,I toold them that I couldnt feel my strings and they said he wraps it around the cervix so not to worry, but they asked me if I thought it mught have fallen out and I told them no because my husband could feel it !! lol. any who they prescribed me an antibiotic thinking maybe I had somet type of infection from the iud but they doubt it because that usaully happens the first month of inserion,, how ever to be safe they gave it to me and they said it should help with the bleeding. but if this happens into next month i need to decide if i want it out, which i will if i continue to go on like this,, talk to you later girls!!

Well ladies I went to the doctor today, and he thinks its hormonal. I told him about all the women that I have talked to that have gotten pregnant with the iud, he said I was crazy, and also he said that the IUD does not effect the urine or blood tests. So if anybody has any literature on any of this could you let me know? I am getting a second opinion on Tuesday. My doctor said that my body was producing a hormone that makes me feel pregnant, but he could'nt tell me why! And he did'nt do an ultrasound to make sure that I was'nt prego either. I not very happy at this point. Thanks ladies for all your support! If you have any advice let me know, I'm scared as hell. I'll keep you all posted.

I've had the Paraguard Copper IUD for 8 years and have barely given it a thought...until now. I'm two weeks late and have never been so much as a day late. I'm having a urinalysis and pt done today. I'm almost 40 years old and scared to death.

Notat40- hopefully everything is ok with you and you are having some fluke month. im glad to hear you are getting this checked out quickly also, and not waiting any longer, because if you are pregnant its better to find out earlier than later. when your 10 years is up are you going to get another paragard or switch? Because I think I might get mine out next month and switch, because I dont really like it..keep us postdated...

Alicia -- Test was negative AND got my cycle today...writing it off as a one bad month out of 96. Having said that, I will continue to use the Paraguard as my choice ofbirth control. Eight years of use and this was my first scare or even concern...it obviously don't work for everyone but it certainly has worked for me. Good luck...

help!!! i am 21 and i have a 19 month old, i have the mirena iud. i am haveing all of the symptoms and my husband and i cannot afford another baby, i havent tested yet and i called the doctor. she told me the mirena iud has some of the same hormones in it as the shot, therefore it can cause you to miss a period, or stop all together, but she said to test anyways! keep your fingers crossed!!!

Hey all! I have a Mirena IUD which I have had since June 2004. Over the last 7 weeks I have started having some of the symptoms you all have, bloating, headaches, fatique, nausea and no period. I went to the gyn and a blood preg test and many urine ones were all neg. He thinks it may be an ovarian cyst(which Mirena causes). I am scheduled for an ultrasound on 9/20/05 and will let you know. It could be the prob for those of you with neg preg tests.

I talked to my doctor and because I coudnt feel mine and he told me its common for women not to feel there string because of the angle that they are in, or something like that! also i have the paragard but he told me he wraps it around the cervix,so it doesnt get in the way,, call your doctor though and ask just incase, becuz i only know what my doctor does and i also have a different iud!!
