i have the 5yr mirena, i always start around the 14th, but the last 2 times i stared it was very very light and i only went for 3 days, and i am feeling pregnant...very irritable, touchy about things i usually dont care about, and sharp pains around my ovaries, im going to take a PT friday, i'll keep yall posted.

First off you can always go and try to get help from the state that you live in. Try and get on Medicad or whatever a__sistance you can through your state. And if the doctor wont take out your IUD then i would either do what he/she says or go talk to another doctor. But when i got mine put the doctor read over a lot of things with me and they told me that was a risk and a lot of times they dont take it out because it is just as big of a risk to remove it as it is to keep it in. They have there reasons. Dont think that they are trying to hurt you.

please help someone i am about 6 days late and sometime i can't feel my string at all and sometimes it feels like it is coming out. I have not been to the doctors yet I wish all this would go away ... I too have just lost weight about 40-45 pounds but i have no signs of being pregnant but being late so could I really be or could it just be from were, maybe the IUD (para gurad) has moved.

I have the mirena. I don't have a period just the occasional spotting. Has this happened to anyone else? I've had it since march

IM with sweetspea1.. I think i am in the same situation as u..but i had twin boys 7 months ago and i feel all the symptoms. But so you or the baby doesnt get hurt, id tell him to take it out. good luck to ya!

I had the progestra/copper IUD and just found out I am five weeks pregnant. My Doctor gave me the 50/50 chances of what happens if they remove it or not. Either way I would be pregnant and possibly abort the pregnancy. I opted for the removal and so far I am still pregnant. The Dr. was in amazement that I even got pregnant. So for most people the IUD is a good option except for those that are extremely fertile. Goodluck to you!

hey guys, i was just reading what everyone posted and i just want to say that the IUD is nowhere near 99%. i went to the hospital last week with severe pain in my side to find out that i was pregnant (ectopic). i had to be rushed to another hospital for emergency surgery being told that had i not gone in that day i could have died. i do not reccomend the IUD to any of you who may be considering one. i hope no one has to go through what i went through. i think that was worse then having the decision of what YOU want to do. hope all works out well for you guys.

Nicole Im sorry to hear about that. What kind of IUD did you have? I hope its not the Mirena that is what I have.

hey trisha, i too have the mirena and i always had spotting, never a normal period. I had it for 3 and half years already.

Hey charise! So you haven't had a period in that long? Did you have a lot if pain at first? It took my body a couple of months to get used to it. Are you having any problems with it?

Has anyone out there taken a PT and it come out negative only to find out later that you really were pregnant? Well i have been feeling very pregnant lately, my b___sts are quite sore, i've been very moody, and i just feel pregnant but i took a PT yesterday and it came out negative, so my question is should i go to the doc's office or should i trust the home pregnancy test? OOO and last week my stomach...around my ovaries, was hurting soooo bad i couldn't even walk or stand, my cousin had to give me a 800mg ibuprofin!!! what do i do e-mail me please at chillindawn@aol.com p.s i have had the mirena for about 3yrs

i HAD the 10 yr copper (not sure the actual name) i was at the obgyn a week before i found out i was pregnant for a period that went on for 2 months staight and i'm normally regular. they didnt find anything when i went that time but when i ended up in the hospital thats when they told me i was pregnant.

Hey guys..getting back to you on my ultrasound i had this morning. The sonogramer would not tell me anything. She asked me what kind of IUD i had. I said Merina. She asked me its shape. I said "T" shaped. She then asked...you've had spotting/bleeding right? I said yes. Then she kept rolling the device around my uterus. I asked her if she could see anything ..she said i can see something. Said she couldnt tell me anything..said the radiologist that would look at the pictures would not tell me anything..said i would have to wait to hear from my dr. Im freaking out!

Hello I have had an IUD since jan. and I have lost about 40 pounds since then. I am having symptoms of pregnancy that I had with my others. Please help anyone else in this boat. I think I may be but to afraid to take a pt. I have a 6 month old and a 22 month old.

After reading your posts I'm now freaking out big time. I have a copper IUD for the last 1 1/2 year. Today I'm 5 days late, I'm cramping, have sore b___sts and was all weepy during the last couple days. I have three girls already and really DON'T WANT TO HAVE ANOTHER!!! That's why I had the IUD in the first place. I was also told by my doc. that the chances of getting pregnant with this IUD "were close to none". BTW, I took 3 home preg. tests and they all came bak negative, but again, all of my tests come back negative and I have three kids (including twins!). I never dreamt od having four kids....

I have had the Copper IUD for 4 1/2 years (it was placed after the birth of my twins) I haven't had any problems until recently. I have had several bacterial infections. I've been on antibiotics 4 times in 3 months. I felt pregnant, but it ended up being these cervical infections. Maybe pairing up the IUD w/ a condom is the best choice if you REALLY don't want a baby. It works for me :) Keep in mind ladies, mind over matter, if you think you are pregnant sometimes the body will act like it's pregnant.
