IUD Pregnancy

Cheryl-I hate to tell you but your waiting may just be beginning. In my case, it took 3 bloodtests and an ultrasound over 6 days to figure out what was going on with my Mirena and my positive hpt. You will want to find a good hcg chart online to lookup your hcg number when they call you back with your bloodwork results. They will then need to draw more blood to check your hcg again. At this point your hcg number should double every 48 hours (of I remember correctly). Since you know how mny days late you are, it should be easy to tell if your hcg number supports how far along you are. I have read lots about healthy iud pregnancies, so just think positive right now. Keep us posted and good luck.

Hello ladies. Wow, I thought chosing the Mirenaa was a good choice. I have never had children and had the Mirena inserted because everyone said it was easier and more effective. I had it inserted in March of this year. I have lost my period on it. I still have some cramping, but not much. Just recently my b___sts were very tender for about a week. I took a home pregnancy test and came back negative. Since I have never been pregnant, I don't know if I am or not. Does anyone else have sore b___sts on the Mirena??? I am a little worried now that so many of you have become pregnant...

Sarah- I just recently had my mirena IUD removed due to problems. I had b___st tenderness around month 4 with the mirena. Doc said it's actually pretty common. My tenderness did go away after a couple of weeks.

HI LADIES, HEY I JUST WANTED YOU ALL TO KNOW THAT THERE IS ANOTHER THREAD LIKE THIS ONE GOING ON AT BABYCENTER.COM. http://bbs.babycenter.com/board/pregnancy/pregcomplications/6675/thread/2412255

Ashley - September 25

Hi ladies! Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. I originally came to this board to find out if it was normal to miss AF with mirena. After having a painful stretching sensation when coughing or waking up with a full bladder, I took a test. Negative. Took another this morning with FMU and there was a faint line to show positive. So worried, not that I am pg but that if I am, something will happen to my baby. Need any encouragement you all have. You ladies are wonderful people. I will take another test in the morning. Bye for now.

Dragonfly - September 25

Ashley---If you are pg, then all the best with your pregnancy & I hope it is an easy-going one. If you aren't, don't worry...there's time yet still, but I hope then there are no complications going on because of the iud. Best wishes & we'll be here to see your results when you post them. You might want to doubly confirm with your doc that you are or aren't just so you don't get your hopes up only to find out that it is something else. I, like you, thought I was pg back in Dec. 2004. I was at first not happy about it, but later after finding out I wasn't pregnant, realized that one day I did want another baby. Good luck!!

Ashley - September 25

Dragonfly-thanks for the encouragement. I took another test this morning, another pos. I will call my doc in the morning to see what I should do. What else could give me two pos. with two brands of tests?

Dragonfly - September 26

Ashley---I just hope it's not an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy. That can happen with IUD's. Your doctor will know after doing the whole spectrum of tests. Well, when you know for sure, please let us all know. Congratulations in advance!!

Cheryl - September 26

Hi ya just thought i would inform you all that my blood results came back and they were high. The hospital called me in a.s.a.p for a scan which revealed the baby is in the womb(not ectopic thank god). The only downside is its just above the coil so they cant remove it.Got to go back in two weeks to check baby is ok and told i will be monitored for infection. Basically one worry is out the way but more to come.

Eva - September 26

Cheryl, I am glad to hear that so far so good. I have been thinking about you and wondering if all was okay. Keep us posted!

Kat - September 26

I just wanted to know if you skipped a period to find out you were pregnant with the IUD, or was your period light?

Ashley - September 27

Hi ladies. Thanks for the replies. I have an appt in the morning with my Gyno. They told me to bring in my first morning urine. LOL. That will be fun. Well, I am still convincing myself that I fouled up the tests. I could get really really happy about another baby, scared I will be dissapointed. Will let you all know. Thanks!

I have a six month old son and am thinking about getting an IUD. As soon as I mentioned it to my Mother she said I know people that have gotten pregnant with IUD's. I was really surprised but she said that they all had healthy normal babies and th IUD's came out during the delivery. Hope this is an encouragment!

I wanted to give some information. I'm not encouraging anyone to get a IUD.Obviously it is not meant for everyone.Up unit about the year 2000 they would put the IUD in anyone.Since then as you all know you must be a canidate to have one inserted.Even people are still getting pregnant the number was much higher before 2000.Good luck to anyone who got pregnant and for everone being supportive to others keep up the good work.

Kat-I had a light period one and a half weeks before I realized that I was pregnant. (I was already 5-6 weeks pregnant.) It only lasted 2 days unstead of four. I figured it was dye to the IUD. When I talked to my OB, she said I should not have been alarmed since the IUD can make your cycle wacky like that. I was floored when I saw that hpt show positive,
