ERIN, I WAS IN THE SAME BOAT AS YOU AT YOUR STAGE. MY IUD IS ATTACHED TO MY UTERUS AND HAS BEEN THROUGHOUT MY WHOLE PREGNANCY. I AM NOW 26 WEEKS ALONG AND SO FAR JUST NORMAL PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS AND BABY IS GROWING JUST FINE. I AM PLANNING ON HAVING A VAGINAL BIRTH AND I WILL BE HAVING A D & C 6 WEEKS AFTER THE BABY IS BORN. THIS IS GOING TO BE MY 4TH CHILD IN 5 1/2 YEARS. MY 2ND CHILD WAS 5 MOS. OLD WHEN I FOUND OUT I WAS PREGNANT W/MY 3RD TOO. IF I CAN DO IT ANYONE CAN! I WOULD ENCOURAGE YOU TO CONTINUE WITH THE PREGNANCY AND GET A SECOND OPINION. THERE HAVE BEEN PLENTY OF WOMEN ON THIS SITE WHO HAVE HAD SUCCESSFUL PREGNANCY'S AND HEALTHY CHILDREN. I TRUELY BELIVE EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON. HANG IN THERE AND GOOD LUCK IN WHAT EVER YOU CHOOSE TO DO. KEEP ME POSTED!

Erin!!! hon im so sorry you too have been put in this predicament and scary position.. I agree with AmY!! sweety..when i found out i was prego with the IUD i was only 4 weeks pregnant..and the IUD was in the opening of my cervix! which my doc told me that it was good news..because that meant lots of room for baby..with the IUD not disturbing it.. why do you say it is close to the sack? I like Amy im begging you to give it a try.. leave it in.. be extra watchful of symptons of infections. Fever, chills, dull lower back pain... and pray for the best.. this is what i been doing..and so far i have a good pregnancy.. i am now 31+ weeks and when i found out i was prego..i thought i would lose it for sure.. but God has bless me..and look i am so close !! PLease Erin.. let God decide your life.. and put yourself in his hands.. there is a reason for this baby.. When i have my son ... I will name him Ian.. which means Precious gift of God.. because that is what i believe he is. I just got a Mirena IUD put in place today and was looking around to see how effective they really are. This site is kind of scary. I guess I'll be keeping tabs in case anything seems amiss with my body. Keep us updated on your IUD pregnancys b/c I have had two birth control pregnancys previously. I'm just hoping the IUD will do its job. Best wishes.

I am so glad I found this site! I have had the Mirena in for almost 2 years (in March) and have had symptoms for the past month or more. Well, last night I started to feel flutters. I have taken a pregnancy test once a week for 4 weeks now, and they are all negative. Has anyone else had this too? What do I need to do to find out if I am preggers or not?

hi everyone i wrote to you guys on dec 15, and at the time I thought i was pregnant because I wa bleeding and spotting. Well I finally i went to the doctor they did a test and it came back positive. But a few days later when i did a beta count it came back low so thet did several test now its sad to say that I had a miscarriage. Now am very upset and now I feel so out of place cause I really wanted this baby. I have the copper t iud in. and its still in place and attach. I am going to remove it now. I just wanted to wish everyone out here who is in situation a safe pregnancy, cause too many of us in this situation, for lack of understanding from the medical field. I read alot of your stories and can understand the way how some you feel. I will try to start a protest to have these IUD banned from use. But I need help in my research I have of you guys trying to call the company and only gettin a response concerning yiur doctors office number and they would like to see how the pegnancies went.As if we don't have much to worry about. Once we get inpregnated w/these IUD's we still have to wrry about having a safe pregnancy an all they want to do is count the lows and highs of everyone carryin a chikd. Hi Gemma, how are you? Are you still bleeding?It would be nice to hear from you.. I'm doing good, the baby is fine I just have a lot of abdominal pain which is new for me, because I didn't have that wit my other pregnancies. Take care and let me know how you're doing.

Hi Eti Thanks for your reply. How many wks are you now? and for the adonmal pains i get it quite alot i saw my consaltant the other wk and she said its because its my 3rd pregnancy il be getting painful braxton Hicks. The bleeding has gone hooray and i had my scan on Wed and the baby is fine and guess what my miracle baby is a Little GIRL lol im so chuffed because i have 2little Boys already God has given my a precious Angel :o) im 21wks preg now and time is real flying. i have another consaltant on the 8th Feb to talk more about the coil unfortnaly the placenta has not covered the coil and it can til be seen so i dont have a clue whats going on intil the 8th if you want to chat more feel free to email me gem3030@lycos.co.uk would b gr8 to hear from you Hope you and your family & cause Miracle Bump are doing well take care xx

hello, just wanted to update you in my pregnancy so far.. I am now 34.4 weeks prego and the IUD is still in my uterus, baby is doing great, growing, and moving wonderfully! i am so glad i have been able to carry this baby this far.. Hi Just a quick update well im 22wks pregnant now and i had my consaltant yesterday, he has said NO to Induce me he said if i go 10days overdue then he will only do it but otherwisw a BIG NO what quite upsetting but his reason for not doing it are fare so from 36wks of pregnancy i have to stay in Hospital til my little Angel arrives so could be in Hospital up to 6wks :o( this is nothing to do with the Coil but because i have Strep B and have super fast delivarys they want to make sure i get my Anti-botics this time my last son didnt get his Anti-botics and it was a terrible his 1st 3days of his life were bad. For the Coil it can only be seen a tiny bit so there is no concern apparently the placenta will move up and cover it was is good news now so no need for anymore scans i see my consaltant again at 34wks just see my midwife now. Baby is fine and the size it should be & still no bleeding what excellent. And Ethi im so glad your getting so far into your pregnancy with no sort of complications it must be exciting for you only 6- wks till your due date (im so jealous lol) hope everything goes smoothly from now til the baby is here & keep us updated take care everyone xx

Hi everybody, I'm 22wks and it seems to be everything fine.The IUD is in a good place(under the placenta), my Dr. said that's good, because from there it can't move enywhere, so the baby is safe! Ethi, I'm glad for you that you're already so far and I wish you only the best for the rest of your pregnancy!! I wanted to take a look in your "Jurnal" but I couldn't find the site!? I have no ansere's and am looking for some myself. There really isn't much information about IUD pregnancies on this information highway. And if I mention pregnancy to my doctor I must be insane, I have a Paragaurd IUD in place!! Good Luck!!

Well i was in Hospital on the 11th Feb for bad bleeds again :o( i was in hospital for 7hrs in the labour ward listening to women screaming in pain not a nice experience espically when your stressed out, well they cant see where the Bleeds are coming from all my bloods and swabs tests came bk negative so these bleeds are not caused by infections. Im til bleeding now but baby is fine her heartbeat is strong (gr8 having a Doppler) Im just getting real enoyed with the Doctors midwifes consaltants telling me they know nothing about Coil pregnancys!! the midwife said she thinks the Coil is scratching my insides what making the blood run down the sides and out, but i was told on my scan my coil can only be seen a little bit and also by my consaltant. If i had the money i would go private but i have to cope with the c___p NHS. anyone with any advice take care xx

Yes, I am dealing with it right now. I also have 2 great children and dont want more. I'm confused. My husband is excited and Iam not. The IUD is still in place. I'm still in a bit of a shock right know. I wish you happiness.

Has anyone had this problem? I have been on the Mirena IUD since August 2003. A few months later I stopped getting a period. About 2 months ago I bled for a few hours (light) and that was it. My b___st became sore and I had to take my peircings out. Then acne and depression has set in. Then I have had no appet_te and I get sick when I do or dont eat. I havent had my period in years, is it possible I am still ovulating and can become pregnant. Has anyone else had similar experiences. I have 2 kids and two dogs, not really looking to get pregnant....

OMG! All I can say is this info has got me in a PANIC!! I have 2 girls, ages 5 & 3 and have had my Mirena for 3 years now. It has worked great for me. No complications, side effects, etc except that I have not had a period in 2.5 YEARS. Yes, that's YEARS ladies! I very rarely worry about getting pregnant..After all, these things are pretty much idiot proof! (or atleast I thought they were, until now) But the last 3 weeks have got me worrying..Started with b___st tenderness, which I get from time to time anyway...But then heartburn, nausea, a tender abdomen and even FLUTTERY feelings! I am scared to death that I may be pregnant because I do not want a child at this time. My long-time boyfriend (6 years) and I have been on a 'break' but still sleeping together. We live in different states and I just have a lot going for me right now. Of course, all things happen for a reason, but just hoping and praying that I am not. Do you think it's possible for me to get prego when I haven't had a period in SO LONG?? Shouldn't the lining be completely gone so nothing for the egg to attach to? HELP!! Going to buy a pregnancy test tomorrow...Can't take the stress anymore!
