this morning I started to very lightly bleed. It is light enough to were just a panty liner and is pink and not red so tessamcgrue hopfuly you are right . But I will still go see the ob on thur. if I don't start to bleed like I normaly do just to be sure. I want ot thank all of you for the sharing all of your experiances with IUD's I will never agien tell anyone how great mine is I will tell them what I have learned on here and tell them to look into another kind of birth control. Sariah my husband used to feel the strings all the time and would some times have a sore on his thing from the strings and that is after my ob cut the strings to make sure he woulden't feel them so I wonder if they aren't suppost to feel them. My husband can't feel the strings anymore and nether can I another reason I want to see my ob. I have a question has anyone else had there b___st leek after having the merina? I gave my little one a hug this morning and leek on my under shirt. I think that the merina totally messes up our bodys making us feel pregnent and we just don't think anything of it until we are late and think we might be pregnent.

hey ladies i go in on thursday for an ultrasound its just weird to me taht we all feel pregnant, ya my husband almost always feels the string i never did untiltoday man those things hurt! anywas did anyone never ahd a period after the iud(mirena) put in b/c i feel pregnant but then again i dunno b/c i never had a period to go by in the first place and they all told me i should get a period and everything should be normal. Well here we are 3 months later and still nada well i started to feel dizzy and when i clean i get very tired my bleeding is very light i wipe once there is a tiny tinypink i wipe again and its gone so imnot sure at least with the ultrasound i'll know whats going on with my body because my midwifes don't want to take it out for me. and with my second son my pregnancy started out bleeding first they told me it could miscarry then a threaten miscarriage then placenta previa well finally they found out that i had an incompentent cervix after i had to go to denver tessamcgrue if you find out before i go please let me know this is driving me insane :) my moods are going up and down like crazy too.

i just took another test and still no is something wrong anyone else have this happen?

tessamcgrue thanks for letting me know about the merina makeing your period go away I looked in the booklet that the ob gave me when I got the merina I really hope that is what is going on with me but I am still going to get it check out so I can make sure. I hope that you will find out from the blood test what is going on and everything is ok. Sariah I think you are suposed to have a period after you get the merina then it fades and goes away after a while so it is probably a good thing that you have an appiontment to get it checked out I hope you get some answers and let us all know. well everyone telling me that i was suppoes to hav e aperiod after my mirena was put in and i never had one kinda freaks me out.should i trust the home preg.test or ...?

hey guys, I just logged in. I had significant cramping today, thinking, oh okay, my period must be coming now, still nada, just a whole lot of clear discharge (sorry for the explicit details) anyways, I took another hpt (the pack came with 2) still neg. I go in tomorrow, I will for sure tell you guys everything I find out tomorrow night. Sariah, it is a little odd that you have not had a period at all, however if a pregnancy where the soul reason for this, it would show up even on a hpt by now, since you haven't had yours in 3 months, that would indicate over 2 months gestation. So do you and Angie both have Mirena? My husband says he usually feels the strings, they really sc___pe him he say's doesn't sound to pleasant, I wonder how he still manages to have a good time, oh well, all the pain and hubug we ladies go through, they can suck it up. Anyways, this is so wierd that we all are experienceing the same symptoms. Angie, what you were saying about Mirena tricking your body into pregnancy, I mean that is essentially what all hormonal bc's do, Mirena does secrete progesterone, maybe it has a more sever effect because it is being secreted internally, and not just into the main blood stream like the pill, maybe the concentration that reaches our glands responsible for the symptoms we experience during pregnancy is higher. I don't know, all I know is I am strongly considering a new form of bc or atleast an additional barrier, I'm not so sure of the 99% guarantee of IUD's anymore. It's nice to have someone to talk to about all of this, I think my husband is alittle tired of hearing about it, one minute I swear the hpt is wrong and I'm preggo, the next I'm cramping and claiming my period is on the way. It's so nerve wrecking, I hate being in limbo and not knowing what's going on with my own body.

sariah I have read through alot of the storys on here and it sounds like alot of them had the hpt show up negative and where still pregnant but who knows what is going on maby it is right and something else is going on so just try to not worry to much, i know it is hard not to worry but that is what I am trying to do until I see the doctor and find out what is up and I can't wait to get some answeres. My husband keeps reminding me that worring wont change any thing. I haven't had anymore lite bleeding, if you can call it that, but I too have a lot of bad cramps I keep going into the bath room to check and see if I am starting to bleed but never am. I would think that if the merina is makeing my period fade and go away it would take the cramps too but I don't know. Hope you all are hanging in there we will hopfull all get some answers soon. thanks for all the answers, i talked to my midwife she has no idea on whats going on with me. That makes me rethink the iud so when i go in for the ultrasound tomorrow i'm taking it out, i tried today but she doesn't want to see me until the ultrasound is done to give her more of an idea on whats going on. She keeps telling me to come in for a pregnancy test and i told her i already took 2 and they said neg. so i wonder if anyone has had this much troble i'm still spotting but very light pink then light brown only when i got to the bathroom. I know my husband is tired of hearing me complaining on whats going on with me and i have no family here, his mom keeps telling me its all in my head , ok so if it is wheres my period for the last 3 months. itls just good to talk to someone who is basically going through the same things im scared somethings wrong with my body , one of my midwifes says she can switch the iud to the 10 year but i'm thinking thats probably not a good idea either. there jsut afraid of me getting pregnant again because i have a 19 month old and a 4 month old she thinks i'll have a miscarriage when im 5 months because i had a leep procedure done, i don't know i try not to worry but i'm still young i don't want these kind of problems . well when i hear something i'll defintley be on letting you guys know.

Sariah I am sorry you don't have more support. My husband is also getting tiered of it. He told me he didn't want to talk about it any more until after I see the ob tomarrow. I don't think it is all in your head I think something is going on. I hope that your ultrasound goes good. I hope that they find out that you aren't pregnent it sounds like you would have more complications then just being pregnent with an IUD which sounds bad enough, and you sound like you have your hands full as it is. I hope to find out that my period is just going away because of the merina because i am only 22 and already have three kids and just bought a house.I love all of my kids very much but don't think I could handle any more. I'll let you all know what I find out tomarrow.

angie m thank you ya im 20 with two kids and thats why my midwife talked me into getting the iud we told her comdomns, but she said no this is better on on and on so finally was like ok i mean we do want another one just not right now my neighbor is 5 montths along so she got pregnant when her daughter was 4 months. It's now that i couldn't handle it it's just i would like more time with my first 2 before we do have anymore because with my first one i missed his first steps his dancing his ifrst word in spanish and the big big one i missed his first birthday becasue i was in the hospital for two months in denver, anyways im kinda anxious on what tomorrow brings it just irritaing these doctors midwifes and etc.. go tto school for this and they can't give me the slightest hint on what could be going on one midwife tells me to take ib and the other midwife say sif there is cramping and bleeding somethings not right.and another midwife is you still haven't got your period hmm.. so i'm a lil nervous there gonna be like sariah ther is something wrong but it is good to have someone totalk to

As far as what's going on with me, it's deffinately not pregnancy, that was confirmed with the blood tests. I had him do a v____al ultrasound and it was an ovarian cyst. Nothing to do with the IUD. I had a cyst that ruptured, causing all the cramping and pain. Due to the development of this cyst, my body had an verproduction of progesterone, causing all the pregnancy like symptoms (nausia, zits, yeast infection etc.) This is also the reason I spotted during ovulation and have had no period. He said I may skip my period all together this month, but everything should be going back to normal with my next cycle. He said that it looks like the cyst has already pretty much drained so the pain and hormone levels should be starting to subside. So be sure to ask your docs to do an ultra sound and check for cysts. That could be it. I am relieved not to be pregnant, I only have 1 child, he's 4, but I'm still young, 24, finally back in school full time, pre-med, to be studying exactly these types of things, obstetrics. Anyways, good to have everything figured out, my hubby was getting really tired of hearing about my issues to, and I was beginning to wonder if it was all in my head, atleast I have confirmed that I'm not crazy, and there was a reason I felt so odd. tessamcgrue thanks for the input anyways im 3 hours away from denver, so how aere you feeling now? I hope everything goes well for you i think my whole big deal is after this i won't be able to conceive thas something is really wrong

well I just got back from the ob and it looks like I am not pregnant thank goodness. My ob coulden't feel my strings ethier so she did a probe ultra sound, never had one before it was kinda wierd, she could see it in there and I'm guesing she would have been able to see a fetus if I was pregnent and she didn't say anything but she still had blood work done like four tubes but I'm not sure for what. She thinks that my period is just weird because of the merina. tessamcgrue I am glad you found out what was going on with you and that you aren't pregnent I also hope that you don't get another cyst it sounds like no fun at all. Good luck in school. I droped out in 10th grade and then got pregnent and haven't been back since. I'm not from the Denver area. I have lived in Washington state all my life. Sariah hang in there. try not to worry to much about not being able to concive agien hopefully there isn't anything seriosly wrong and you will be just fine. Good luck at your appointment. angie,thanks ya i went to my appointment yesterday and then they called me again lastnight wanting me to go in at 9 this morning so we went, well first we went in yesterday and she said everytbinhg looked good, well we go back in today the iud is in place but i have fluid around the iud so i have no idea noones called me or nothing she says well you don't look pregnant then i told her i can feel my iud strings and she says no your not suppose to so now im jsut waiting to see whats going on but i think inthe end im just getting it taken out im glad your not pregnant well my son is being cranky so ill be back on again about 9 tonight

Hi Lori! I'm very sorry to hear about your problem. I really hope that nuttin bad happens to your baby. I couldn't imagine. BUT I actually have an IUD. I have had my IUD since 6 weeks after I had my daughter. I haven't expierenced any problems w/mine except for getting it removed and replaced. When it's removed, it's a simple procedure. I dunno why they said they would have to dialate your cervix. To remove it, all that is done is a pull of the string and it's out. I have heard though of the IUD moving and causing pregnancy. Could've something like that happened w/you? I really hope all goes well for you! I wish you the best of luck with your decision!

saria I am glad that they don't think you are pregnent and hope you will let me know what you find out about the water around it. I hate that doctors never let you know what they think is going on or give you any clue as to what they are doing and why. They just go on testing and poking at you. I don't think I will get my merina removed but I will probably use another form of birth control also. I deffenitly don't want any more babys for 4 more years,at least, which is when I will get this merina removed. If my husband and I still don't want more I think I will have him get the surgery which he wants to do know but I asked him to wait because we might feel diffrent in a few years.
