saria I am glad that they don't think you are pregnent and hope you will let me know what you find out about the water around it. I hate that doctors never let you know what they think is going on or give you any clue as to what they are doing and why. They just go on testing and poking at you. I don't think I will get my merina removed but I will probably use another form of birth control also. I deffenitly don't want any more babys for 4 more years,at least, which is when I will get this merina removed. If my husband and I still don't want more I think I will have him get the surgery which he wants to do know but I asked him to wait because we might feel diffrent in a few years. angie thanks ya i feel a little better but now it worries me that they had me go back in for aanother ultrasound because of the fluid but they didn't tell me anyhting except your midwife will call you, it drives me insane ya im getting it taken put because i guess your not suppose to be feel any of the things im feeling so basically my body is disagreeing with it o well i want another baby in the near future just not right now so i guess in the meantime we'll be using condoms. well when i hear what is going on i'll definitley let u know.

Hello, I had my mirena put in about a year and a half ago. Things have been fine with it until recently. I have been having pg symptoms and no sing of period for 2 months now. I have two small children and we were not planning on any more, at least not anytime soon. Now, after reading these posts and knowing how fertile everyone in my family is, I am paranoid. I called dh and told him to pick up a hpt on his way home from work. I'll let you know what it says.

I had a Mirena IUD inserted in October 2003. I have 2 girls age 6 and 10. I was 9 days late for my period in April and finally started. It was very heavy (I usually just spotted). That lasted 1 day and I thought all was fine. Then this heavy bleeding went on...on and off for 2 weeks...I would bleed and then stop for a couple days and this continued. I finally took 3 HPT's all came back positive. I had an episode where I thought I miscarried..pa__sing large blood clots. I went to the Dr. 2 days later and he did an ultrasound. The IUD was still in place and I was indeed still pregnant. He removed the IUD and 2 days later I started bleeding very heavy again...clots and tissue...for just about 10 mins...after that just spotting. I went in to the Dr. the next day and he did an ultrasound...still pregnant. I am now 7weeks 4 days and still spotting but still very pregnant. I pray every day that the spotting will stop so I can relax and enjoy this pregnancy. All prayers are very much appreciated.

Well, I took an ept last night... the result looked like a very faint positive. I took another one and it was definately negative. Yay! I am going to take one more tomorrow morning and hopefully it will be neg too. I am still bothered by my pg symptoms though, and lack of period. I was able to "feel" my first two pregnancies, I'm feeling the same way now. I don't think I want this mirena anymore, I am thinking of trying something else.

Hi, my last period was 14 mar 06 and i had mirena put in on 21 mar 06, i had spotting for about a month and it has since gone away. but i have not had a period since march. i am VERY scared that i am pregnant, we have a 21 month old and an 11 month old, and i just went through a miscarriage on feb 13th after 8 weeks with a D&C so we were planning on waiting for at least 3 years to have another one. but i never ever miss my period, i am EXTREMELY emotional, b___st tenderness and swollen and i just am the most exhausted i have ever been. I have taken a few e.p.t's but they were digital and came out negative and i am waiting to hear back form my blood test. has anyone had soemthing similiar happen to them? i know your period can go away but it just seems weird that right off the bat it's gone for 2 months and i have all of these symptoms.....please someone help me!

Is there anyone else out there that doesn't get a period with Mirena IUD? I have had Mirena for 3 years and have loved it. I don't get periods, but now I am feeling pregnant and I have no idea if that is possible since I haven't had a period in 3 years. I took to home pregnancy tests a few days ago and both came back negative. I still wasn't feeling great today, so I finally decided to call the dr. They said there is still that possibillity that I am pregnant so they asked me to come in right away and pick up a lab slip for a blood test. I did that at lunch time, now the waiting will kill me for the next few days.

I have had my mirena for 2 years now. After the first few months, I quit having a period altogether which is great, but sometimes leaves me wondering. I haven't been able to feel the stings, but after seeing the dr. she says it is still in place and that it is fine. Has anyone experience with mirena shifting because of weight loss or gain? just curious

hey the last three girls, i just had a baby on christmas and the mirena iud put in on jan 26, i never had a period even before they put it in. I have been having horrible cramps though and i do get my pregnant symptoms back, they did an ultrasound and the iud was still in place and my bleeding is every noe and then well they seen fluid but they have'nt told me anyhting bout. so im still in the clouds about that one but one midwife told me the reason my body is saying im pregnant because theres no period and there is somehting in my uteras and the reason i've been having so much pain is because my body is rejectingthe id what i don't understand is i feel the strings, and don't you have to have a period before you can become pregnant?because i still have'nt till this day had a period. so it makes me a little nervous that i haven't had one we plan trying to get pregnant the end of next year were gonna do some traveling and my pregnancies are considered high risk which i don't understand im only 20 well if you do doubt your preggo take atest at least you'll know. good luck girls i'll be back later

Well I posted on APril 13th saying my period had lasted 8 days with this darn mirena. Now I'm 9 days late and nothing. I'm ready to get it out. Trying to get to the dr.'s is like walking thru fire tho. Three BFN's and I'm sure I'm nuts. Keep us updated everyone and I'll do the same. Best wishes.

I got the test results today and I am not pregnant. I am going to the ob on Monday to find out what else could be going on. Still not feeling great...

hi ladies i need some advise as well. i had my baby july of 05 at my six week check up i got on the ortho evra patch. After a few times of my baby pulling the patch off of my arm i was starting to want to switch my birth control. well when i want for my pap smear my midwife told me all about mirena i liked it but was still a bit nervous . so finnaly on march 6 2006 i got it put in had a normal heavy period from march 31st to about april 5th had a lil breakthrough bleeding around the 19th that lasted around 2 days and havent seen my period since. today i am 13 days late 2 days ago i took a very cheap hpt that my friend had that read neg. And yestarday i had a blood test done at my doc have to wait to get the results on monday. i havent felt my string every since my doc had to cut it cuz it was too long it was hurting me by boyfriend felt it with is finger for the first couple weeks no neither of us can feel it. is it normal to miss your period or be so late after only goin on your 3 rd month of having you iud in place? i cant have another baby not now thats why got on this cuz it "protects for up to 5 years" BULL! MY BABY IS ONLY 10 MONTHS PLEASE HELP

bonnie 716 hi, i had some of the same things ecxept i can feel my strings , anyways i had my iud put in when my baby was a month old i never had a period are you feeling any pregnant symptoms, they did an ultrasound and supposebly everything was fine but i've been cramping like crazy and im always in pain they tell me its normal not to have a period but i have had mine in for almost 4 months now and still no period so i dont know i was gonna go in and take it out but now they come up with every excuse in the book not to so im getting frustrated about this whole 5 year plan i thinks it s a whole lot of b.s.

hi sariah, i havent had many true pregnancy symptoms just need for me sleep im not sure if my frequent urination is due to nerviousness or thats a symptom also my b___st feel a bit enlaraged i feel awful moody and like my previous preg. i keep gettin that feelin that im startin my period and i go to the bathroom and there is nothin but discharge. i just know im really scared my bf doesnt seem too scared maybe he is in denial or he just may have faith that God will see us thru it.
