I disagree Tracy.... Most dr's say to wait to TTC again because of knowing your date of conception. For instance, if you conceive before getting your period after a miscarriage, then you can't go by your LMP for validation. You are right though, "if" you were far along. Most woman miscarry before they even knew they were pregnant. If you weren't very far along at all there is absolutely NO proof that you getting pregnant again is going to increase your chances of ectopic or miscarriage. I've lost my right tube due to an ectopic. That was my first pregnancy. Pretty much the only way your going to have an ectopic is if your tube is damaged. Having a miscarriage doesn't damage your tubes. If you were further along in a pregnancy and lost it, you "may" the rate of another miscarriage may be higher because the lining of the uterus may not be ready for implantation. This being said, if you weren't that far along, your fine to get pregnant the first ovulation after. Wont hurt!! As long as it was just one of the unfortunate miscarriages and nothing else wrong. Gina- keep posted, I'm sure you will be fine and the next pregnancy will be great, regardless when it will be. Take care!

Well, tommorow I go for my next appointment. Sadly, they will not find anything during the u/s because I had a definite miscarriage early yesterday morning (sat 10/15). After 2 weeks of worrying, waiting, and crying because I was unsure of what was going on, I feel at peace because I now know what God's will was for my situation. I am so thankful that God has sustained me and strengthened me through this time. He is great! It will be a while before I try again. I wasn't trying to get pregnant this past time, so I know if it is God's will for me to get pregnant anytime soon I will. Otherwise, I am going to wait a while so my husband and I can have more time together as a couple before having a family. I am thankful for all those who have encouraged me here. May God bless your lives and the lives of your families. Thanks again! "all things work together for the good of those who love God" Romans 8:28.

Just to keep all your hopes alive... I had 6 negative blood tests and 2 out of 10 hpts positive. But I was convinced I was pregnant. ALLL the symptoms. I was persistant and continued to test. I just went yesterday and had an ultrasound and I am 6 weeks pregnant. All looks great!! So girls dont give up..It is possible to have negative blood tests and still be pregnant....

Sherri - October 19

Also wanted to note that i went 1 week for an hcg and it was less than 5 (considered negative) waited another week and it was 1800 then the following week it was 26,000... So keep positive..

You just found out very early. Your blood test at the dr. doesn't just say negative or positive. It gives you a number. So, if nothing showed up, then its just too early. But, if you go back in one week, there should be a good number. So, you can't just go off of one lab. Everything is pretty much, repeat in one week.

I just ran into this site and started reading trying to understand my own position. I started crying just reading your stories. I feal for all of you. I had my last period october 19th and about the 13th day i got a positive sign on my ovulation kit. I missed my period in Nov. Out of fear I decided to wait to take a pregnancy test because I do miss alot of periods. On Dec. 2, I got a positive reading on the pregnancy test. On the third of december 3 started spotting. I went to the doctors and they took an Hcg test and it was at 61 the next day 69. I was told by my last doctor that you cannot ovulate after a missed period and this doctor told me I can. They did a ultrasound and they saw no sign of pregnancy. My doctor said I could just be a couple days pregnant and the hcg numbers are normal along with the spotting. Then she said just wait and see....I have no answers and I am so confused about what all this means. I was hopeing some of you woman could help me out and tell me what you think...Thank you for listening

Amanda- unfortunetly your HCG has to "at least" double every 36 to 48 hours. Your hardly even went up in a whole day. 13 days past ovulation my HCG was at 134. 46 hours later it was at 370. Also, you ovulate 14 days before you bleed. You sound like my last loss when I wasn't too anxious to take a test because my periods were late quite often. Well, after that loss, I found out the reason my periods were always off and the reason I lost my pregnancy was because I didn't produce enough progesterone. Something you should look into. Especially if your periods are abnormal. Its a high sign that you don't produce enough. I lost 3 pregnancies and this one I saved because I took Crinone 8% the day I found out I was pregnant. I am now 18 weeks. Also, you can't really see anything in the uterus until your HCG hits 2000. YOurs is hardly going up, so it might take awhile. Is your dr. going to retest your HCG again?? Oh and your dr. is right.. you can ovulate after a missed period. Because what that means is you didn't ovulate the cycle before. If you ovulate and dont conceive you bleed 14 days after. So, if you don't bleed then you didn't ovulate. Which would make you skip your period. Then you DID ovulate the next cycle.

Hi Ladies...that's good information to have Daniella, thanks. I had a miscarriage in Sept and it took 9 weeks before my period finally came. I believe that I ovulated this past Sat or Sun. I am hoping that I will have good news soon! How early can you tell if you are pregnant? Is it possible to start feeling symptoms yet? I noticed that I have slight cramps and that was what I had experienced the first time around too but I can't remember how early I was feeling it. Amanda, I hope that you HCG level keeps going up!

Amanda - December 8

Thanx Daniella.....They did test my hcg levels 2 days after the first test and they were the same 69. The doctor said to come in on tuesday and take another hcg test.. Depending on what those numbers are we will go from there.I know it doesnt look good, maybe I am just a little pregnant are those numbers still low? I will also ask my doctor about the progesterone...how do they test for that. Can they test for it even if you are not pregnant.

Amanda - December 8

Also good luck Daniella and Kimberly on your pregnancy. Its looking worse today.I pa__sed some tissue and I am cramping pritty bad.... I try to have hope, keep me in your prayers u are all in mine.

Kimberly - December 14

I'm sorry to hear that Amanda, but as Daniella stated in her previous postings you will be fertile very soon. I actually waited 1 cycle before I started the process again. My period should be starting today...but I am not hoping not to see it as I am hoping so very much that I am pregnant. Also according to my doctor, some women bleed throughout their pregnancy too....

Daniella - December 14

Amanda- I am so sorry!!! Try to keep your head up. At least your HCG was very low, so you will be fertile sooner, etc. My HCG was at 10,000 when I ended up having a D&C. I ovulated and got pregnant 5 weeks (35 days) after the loss. Everyone is different in how fast the numbers do down, but usually about how long it took to get up. Is he going to test your HCG until it hits 0? Just to make sure everything is getting back to norm. again? Kimberely- Good luck!!! As far as the symptoms go... once again, everyone is different. Usually the pregnancy hormones give you the symptoms, so.... they usually have to be in your body first. Although in increase in hormone levels right before ovulation can give you the same symptoms. Oh, progesterone is tested just like your HCG. Just through serum and yes they can even test you when your not pregnant. In fact it is your progesterone (well, and estrogen) that increases right before ovulation, and then when you ovulate without conception, it drops. 2 weeks later you get your period. So, they can test you day 3 of your period to check your levels, and then day 16 or so (depending on your length of cycle) to see if ovulation occured, etc. Something to look into if you are TTC again. Either way, if you find out your pregnant, it wont hurt at all to take progesterone supplements (especially the v____al cream like Crinone) because it goes straight to the uterus and keeps the lining thick. Also, it works with your HCG. So, progesterone supplements can also raise your HCG levels. Once your pregnancy isn't going to make it, its too late... but, there is always hope on the next one as I am living proof of that. hehe... OH, also... just found out that we are having a boy today!! :)

Kimberly - December 15

Congrats Daniella! I know that I definitely ovulated between 12/2 and 12/5 and I started to feel that my b___st was very sore, had cramps and gas :-). My period should have started yesterday but not here yet....... my b___st are not as sore now but still have some slight cramps. I was too anxious and went to take a urine pregnancy on Friday 12/9 but the test came back negative. Usually how soon can I test. I am trying to wait and make that I waited long enough to test. I have been taking prenatal vitamins, do they already contain progesterone or should I take another supplement, also will it hurt to take them now?

Daniella - December 15

Natural progesterone supplements (such as crinone) etc., is a prescription your dr. has to put in for you. He shouldn't say NO since it doesn't hurt and you've had a m/c before. Just don't take it until you know your pregnant. No, your prenatals dont have it in there. Some stores like walgreens, etc. have progesterone stuff... but, its synthetic (not natural) and its such a low amount that its almost pointless for anyone to purchase. Anyhow, you should have a postive test by now. My HCG was 134 at 13 days past ovulation. Most home pregnancy test (HPT's) test at a level at 20- 25 for the 4 day early ones. The regular ones usually test at 50. You should definitely have at least a level of 50 HCG in your system 2 weeks after ovulation if you know for a fact you did ovulate. You may have ovulated slightly later than you thought, so you may want to take another test soon. Good luck!! I sure wish the best for you!! :)

Amanda - December 16

Thanx again daniella...I have been going through alot after I wrote about the bleeding my numbers kept going up and I stopped bleeding for 2 days so I had a litt hope but then the bleeding came back only harder.I go in for another blood test monday. My doctor refuses to check my progesterone level...I will be seeking another doctor. I'm ready to try again I am just scared. Good luck with the baby.

Andrea - December 22

I just found out today that I miscarried for the second time now. I was supposed to be 11 1/2 weeks along but lost my baby at 7 1/2 weeks. Today was my first ultrasound and the baby's size wasn't right and there was no heartbeat. My hCG level was somewhere in the 1400's. Any advice on how to cope for the second time and if I should try right away again? We wanted this baby so bad.
